Climate and Social Impact

At Wise, we believe in money without borders.

We've built our business on making cross-border transfers fast, affordable, and transparent, saving our customers over $3.3 billion in hidden fees in the last year alone. But our vision extends beyond individual transactions.

Each year, hidden fees drain billions from everyday people sending money abroad—remittances that support families, enable businesses, and connect communities across borders. That's why we believe responsible financial providers must address the broader challenges our customers face, from humanitarian crises to financial exclusion and the growing impact of climate change on vulnerable communities.

Our Impact Pillars are the expression of how this works in practice.
These pillars are foundational to what impact means at Wise.

Transparency is our guiding principle for all our work

Pillar 1

Unlike other providers, we donʼt hide fees in inflated exchange rates. We offer affordable and transparent pricing that lets people and businesses see exactly what theyʼre paying. Transparency extends beyond Wise products — to our climate and social impact projects — to help demonstrate accurately our progress and ambitions.

Convenience is mission-critical

Pillar 2

Weʼre building infrastructure that helps ensure our customers move money with ease and speed. This accessibility translates into benefits for low-income families in emerging markets and growth for social enterprises.

Making a change emboldens us

Pillar 3

Weʼre making a positive, long-lasting change in the world. Sustainability is not only embedded in where and how we work, but extends to the global efforts we support through a humanitarian perspective for those most in need, as well as through our climate investments.

In our 2026 Climate and Social Impact Report, we're proud to share tangible progress.

We've increased our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) budget to 0.16% of net revenue year-over-year growth, totaling $3.3 million. This investment is split equally: half supporting climate resilience through $1.3 million in nature-based carbon-removal projects across India, the Philippines, Brazil, and Mexico—each chosen for co-benefits including employment creation, gender equity, and agricultural resilience—and half backing humanitarian efforts, including doubling our commitment to the International Rescue Committee's Crisis Response Fund to $1.3 million, delivering lifesaving assistance to over 380,000 people across 10 countries.

As we expand our global presence—now processing almost 10% of inbound remittances to India and over 10% to the Philippines—we're aligning business growth with meaningful impact, ensuring financial inclusion and climate resilience reach the communities that need them most. While we've made meaningful progress, our ambition is always to do more. We're still at the start of our journey.
