Most providers and banks have to go through intermediary banks to get your money to your recipient. Each intermediary bank takes a fee from your transfer, which increases the total cost.

We’ve been around for 10 years and we’re regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and numerous authorities around the world.

In Australia, Wise Australia Pty Ltd is authorised by the ASIC and APRA. We support all universities worldwide. You can easily pay your tuition fees directly to your university’s bank account using the details they’ve given you. In Australia, you can pay to your university’s bank account number or their BPAY biller code.

How do I pay tuition fees directly to the university?

Accepted Answer

Once you’ve signed up for a free Wise account:

Create your transfer and tell us how much you’d like to send
Tell us which university you’re paying and we’ll show you the BPAY biller code for the university. Enter the Customer Reference Number (often the Student ID or reference number provided by the university).
Pay Wise for the transfer using a bank transfer, or debit or credit card (depending on which country you’re paying from). Once we’ve received your money, we’ll send the money to the university.

How long does it usually take for money to reach the university?

Once we receive your money, it usually takes 0-2 working days to get to your university’s bank account. We’ll always give you an estimate of how long your transfer will take when you set it up. You can also keep track of its status on our app or website.

Yes, there are limits for how much you can send with us. They depend on which currencies you send to and from, and how you pay. You can check the limits for each currency here. If you’re sending money to Australia, you can send up to 1.5 million AUD per transfer.

These are the account details you can share with others to receive money like a local. If you’re a student, you can use your unique account number to receive money from your supporters. If you’re a supporter living outside Australia, you can send money to the student’s Australian account for their daily expenses.
