We have some excellent news to share: we’ve received our second licence from the Central Bank of Brazil, this time as a payment institution. Until now, we...
A lot happened in the last quarter of 2022, so we wanted to recap the key highlights from the Wise Platform team.
We’ve been working tirelessly to make sure our 60+ partners (across six continents) and their customers have access to our fast, transparent and low-cost international payments capabilities. In Q4 we went live with 3 exciting new partners, and worked hard to launch additional features with some existing ones.
We have talked about a number of issues affecting the wider industry, including how fintech aids financial inclusion and helps customers through crises and how digital transformation can create a more personalised high-street banking experience. We also spoke to the Fintech Times about our growth, ethics, work environment and the secret behind our success in.
Speaking of success… in December we won the FF News Award for ‘Wow moment in Cross-Border Payments’, and we were shortlisted for the FS Tech Award for ‘Partnership or Collaboration of the Year’. We look forward to the awards ceremony in March 2023! Read on to find out more.
We are delighted to have launched new partnerships with banks and businesses all over the world:
In December, we announced our partnership with AvidXchange, leading provider of accounts payable (AP) automation software and payment solutions for middle market businesses and their suppliers.
This integration will give AvidXchange clients better visibility over fees, gains, and losses, and allows for a fully automated accounting process. In turn, this allows AvidXchange to offer its U.S.-based clients an embedded payment experience that makes it more convenient than ever to send money both domestically and internationally from their platform.
We also announced that we have expanded our 3-year partnership with Deel, a leading global HR and payroll company, with the launch of a brand-new feature. The feature enables customers to send funds via Deel using just an email address, opening up 10 new currencies in Deel’s payments infrastructure and further simplifying global payroll for over 10,000 Deel customers - from SMBs to publicly traded companies. In practical terms it means that 80% of admin required for employers to execute a payment has been slashed.
We partnered with leading virtual bank¹ in Hong Kong, ZA Bank, to give their customers quick, convenient and low cost international money transfers with no hidden fees, available directly from the ZA Bank app. Excitingly, ZA is our first partner to launch in Hong Kong. The integration is powered by Wise Platform’s easy-to-use APIs.
We launched in yet another new market when we announced our partnership with Wio Bank, a neobank in the United Arab Emirates. The integration will offer Wio Business customers access to fast, transparent and cost-effective international payments as they grow their businesses in the digital age. The partnership with Wise Platform is the latest step for Wio as it builds its suite of embedded finance services for customers in the region.
Money 20/20 USA returned in October, bringing thousands of fintechs and banks together in Las Vegas, USA. Our Wise Platform team attended the event and loved every minute!
On stage - Nick Catino, Global Head of Policy & Social Impact, spoke about the Future of Payments Policy and how regulators can modernise the system, alongside Stripe, Brex, and the Financial Technology Association.
We also attended Fintech2022 in Sydney, which brings Australia's leading and emerging companies in the fintech, payments and blockchain areas together to learn and network.
Wise Platform’s Head of APAC Business Development Dan McCarthy took to the stage with a panel of experts to discuss growth trends in business and consumer banking, payments and finance.
With enterprise partnerships being raised as a key theme, Dan highlighted Wise Platform’s mission and journey to solving the same problems for our partners as Wise does for our own customers, and our successes and learnings so far.
And yes, we’re hiring! As picked up by the American Banker and Globe Newswire.
