How to Withdraw Money from AdSense

Paola Faben Oliveira

If you have a Youtube channel or a website for publishing online content, you can monetise it with Google AdSense.

It works by matching ads to your site or channel, based on what you’re posting and the demographics of your visitors. You then make money from advertisers using your online platform to promote your content.

Google AdSense is free, and if the unpaid balance on your adsense account reaches a certain amount by the end of the month, you’ll get paid¹.

In this guide, we’ll look at how to withdraw money from AdSense globally. This includes the payment methods available for users in different countries, along with step-by-step guides for getting set up.

What are the ways to withdraw money from AdSense globally?

Google offers a number of payment methods to withdraw unpaid balance on your Adsense account. However, some of them depend on your payment address. For example, payments by Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) transfers are only available in certain Euro countries².

Here are the AdSense payment methods available:

Cheque

In some countries you can receive the unpaid balance on your Adsense account by cheque³, to make sure this option is available at your location you need to head to the Payments section on your account and check the payment options.

Google's cheques are issued by Citibank and they are made for deposit only. Before setting up your Adsense payment method as a check, it's good to make sure your bank account can accept Google's US dollars Citibank cheques.

Cheques are delivered via standard delivery although some countries in Latin America will receive their cheques via local courier without additional charge.

Wire transfer

A reliable, secure way to receive your AdSense payment, wire transfer involves sending a payment once a month straight to your bank account.⁴

Here’s what you need to do to select wire transfer as your preferred payment method:

  1. Sign into your Google AdSense account and head to the Payments section
  2. Select ‘Add payment method’
  3. Choose 'Wire transfer to bank account’
  4. Enter your bank account information, making sure to enter details exactly as they appear on your bank statement.
  5. Check your details and submit.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

An EFT is just like a bank transfer, as it deposits your AdSense earnings directly into your bank account. But the key difference is that unlike bank transfers, if this option is available in your location the money will be paid out in your local currency.

Follow these steps to choose EFT as your AdSense payment method⁵:

  1. Sign into your AdSense account and head to ‘Payments’
  2. Select ‘Add payment method’
  3. Set EFT as your payment method
  4. Enter your bank account details carefully and click ‘Save’
  5. AdSense will then send a small test deposit of less than £1 to verify your account⁶. This should arrive after 2-5 working days.
  6. Once you receive this (check your bank statements or online banking), sign back into your AdSense account and click ‘verify now’
  7. Selet the test deposit amount you received from the drop-down menu, then confirm.
