A guide to Samsung Wallet (Samsung Pay) in the UK: limits, how to use it and is it safe?
Read our guide to Samsung Pay, now called Samsung Wallet. This includes how to use it, security features, limits and more.
TikTok is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms on the planet with 1.5 billion monthly active users.1 Naturally, their very own in-app store TikTok Shop is becoming more popular by the minute, offering everything from food to clothes and electronics. In fact, it’s so popular that 30% of daily TikTok users have used TikTok Shop at some point and another 30% are willing to try it.1
If you’re not sure how their shop works and how you can pay for purchases there, you’re in the right place. We’ll cover everything you need to know about TikTok Shop payment methods.
We’ll also mention a handy way to enjoy your TikTok Shop splurge - the Wise card. It’s designed for low-cost spending, automatically converting your pounds at a fair mid-market exchange rate for a small, transparent fee*.
TikTok Shop is a marketplace which allows TikTok users to buy products directly through the app. So, you need to have a TikTok account in order to use it. However, the products there are not sold by TikTok, but instead by third-party sellers, many of whom implement dropshipping.
TikTok Shop allows you to purchase items from both private sellers and also from big brands and retailers. You can buy things through in-feed videos, LIVE videos and the Showcase tab, which is essentially buying directly from a seller's or a creator's account.3
First, download the TikTok app if you don’t already have it installed. You won’t be able to use TikTok Shop without it, so this is the most important step.
After you create an account and log in, you’ll be able to find TikTok Shop on the bottom of the page. The location might be different in other countries, but this is where it is in the UK.
Here’s a step-by-step on placing a TikTok Shop order:
So, what payment methods does TikTok Shop accept? The good news is that there’s a variety to choose from, from payment cards to BNPL options. Let’s cover all of them:
The cards accepted for paying at TikTok Shop are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the Discover Card. This includes both credit cards and debit cards.
You can save your card details in the app so you don’t have to type them in in the future. You can also delete them at any time.
Apple Pay is a secure and convenient way to pay online, TikTok Shop included. Those who have an iOS device can use it to quickly place orders.
If you’re an Android user or you don’t use Apple Pay for any other reason, Google Wallet is also a valid payment option.
PayPal is another payment method for ordering from TikTok Shop. If this is your preferred means of payment, you’ll be redirected to their page and log into your PayPal account.
You can also pay with a credit or debit card through PayPal even if you don't have a PayPal account. If you use PayPal as your chosen payment option, you may also be able to pay in instalments via PayPal Pay in 3, too.
If you plan on making a bigger purchase in TikTok Shop, a service like Klarna may be helpful. This buy now pay later option allows you to split your orders into four interest-free payments. Money will then automatically be taken from your account every two weeks.
You can use your Wise card for all TikTok Shop payments. Save the card details in the app or add it to your mobile wallet for an extra layer of security. When it comes to TikTok Shop, Apple Pay or Google Wallet are accepted and commonly used wallets.
Here’s how to add a new payment method to use in your TikTok Shop:
Changing your payment method on TikTok is similar to adding a new one. Here are the steps:
That was our guide on how to pay on TikTok Shop and what the accepted payment methods are. You should be able to place your first order and see what the hype is all about.
However, your purchases aren’t necessarily the only expense you’ll have on TikTok Shop. Since sellers can set their own currency, you can also get hit with unfair exchange rates. Luckily, you can avoid this by using your Wise card when shopping.
For a one-time cost of just £7, you can get your own Wise card. It auto-converts the money in your Wise account to the right currency whenever you spend, all at the mid-market rate. You’ll just pay a small conversion fee, or no fee if you already have the currency in your Wise account*.

After you purchase them, they’re downloaded into your account. You can then use these coins to send gifts to other TikTok creators. Each gift costs a certain amount of coins.
