Your Christmas Dinner in numbers
Tis the season to eat a lot of yummy food, so Wise has teamed up with the food-and-culture expert and Chef, Mallika Basu as part of our Christmas Without...
Last year, I answered all of your big, beautiful, burning questions on Google relating to the word Wise. We looked at hard hitters like “How to have wisdom?” and “Are wise potato chips gluten free?” (They are).
Because you’re all super needy and have heaps of questions looking for some very serious answering, I’m going to do just that. But this time, with “currency conversion.”
So without further ado, here are your Google autocomplete questions answered, currency conversion edition.
Pray for me.
I don’t care, take me elsewhere
Honestly, I Googled the answer to this and still don’t get it. So you’re on your own.
Still on your own.
What’s a lean, green, affordable machine? Us. It’s us. Use Wise.
X + Y = Why are you doing this, we can do it for you? Silly billy.
Thankfully my colleagues have exaplained this here, so I don't have to.
It will, but you’ll likely be overcharged with nasty hidden fees. Shady, shady, shady.
You need to be more specific. Like, are we talking about the Tudor era? Marie Antoinette vibes? UGH.
Luckily for you, because I’m ridiculous, I wrote an article on “what £1,000 could have gotten you throughout the centuries”. Why? For absolutely no reason whatsoever.
OMG I know the answer to this one. Dynamic currency conversion is when you’re given the option to pay in your home currency or a local currency at a till. If this makes you go “wow”, prepare to have your world rocked… we have a multi-currency card, so you can pay like a local using the real-time exchange rate. Sick (in a good way).
Do you mean a Bureau de change? Well it’s bureau de STRANGE that you’re asking when you know Wise is a thing.
Please tell me I don’t have to answer this by now.
THERE ARE NO RULES. Just kidding, there are. At the moment it still costs money to send cash across borders. At Wise we’re working on making this eventually free. Which is why we use the real-time exchange rate, always, to make sure you get the best out of your wallet.
