Yes, you can transfer large amounts with your Chase account. But how you do it and how much you can send works a little differently with Chase compared to other UK banks.
With a Chase personal account, you can send up to £25,000 a day via Faster Payments.¹
Faster Payments is what most UK banksuse to send payments between UK accounts. As you’d guess from the name, it’s super fast - with most payments arriving instantly.
If you need to send more than £25,000 (which is likely if you’re reading this guide), you’ll need to increase your daily transfer limit. You can request this by contacting Chase customer services via the bank’s mobile banking app.¹
The increased limit will be temporary, so you can complete your large transfer - and it can only be raised to a maximum of £200,000.¹
Need to send more than £200,000? Ordinarily with a bank, you’d use CHAPS (which stands for Clearing House Automated Payment System). CHAPS is specially designed for making large, secure and time-sensitive payments.
Chase doesn’t offer CHAPS, but it does say that you can contact its support team for help making a larger transfer.¹
You can only send payments within the UK in GBP with Chase. You can’t make international payments of any size using your Chase current account.²
If you need to transfer large amounts overseas, consider checking out the Wise account.

Once you’ve opened an account with Chase, you can make transfers of up to £25,000 right away using Chase digital banking services.
To set up your transfer, you’ll need to login to your Chase mobile app and tap ‘Payments’. Select an existing payee or follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new recipient, including any security verification steps.
Then you can enter the amount you want to send along with any other required details - and confirm the payment.
It gets a little more complicated if you need to send a larger sum. You’ll need to contact Chase customer services via the app to request a temporary increase of your daily transfer limit to £200,000. Here’s how to do it:¹
You can request this up to 2 days in advance, but it can take up to 4 hours for your new limit to show in the mobile app. You can only have one limit request open at a time, and each expires at midnight - so make sure you send your payment before then.¹
If you’re sending more than that, you’ll need the help of a customer services agent to make the transfer.
Here are the recipient details and other info you’ll need to have ready to make your transfer:
As you can’t make international transfers with Chase, these are the only details you’ll need. But if you’re sending money overseas with another bank or with Wise, read this for info on additional details you’ll need to have ready.
Chase uses Faster Payments, which often arrive instantly or within 2 hours at the outside (as long as the receiving bank supports Faster Payments).
If you’re putting in a request to increase your daily transfer limit, it’s best to do it early in the day. Chase only processes these requests between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and any requests submitted after 2pm may be processed the following working day. ¹
To make it easier to see how much you can send, here’s a quick look at its maximum transfer limits with Chase:¹
