Yes, you can transfer large amounts with NatWest, as long as you have a personal or business account with the bank.
There are a couple of different options available, depending on how much you need to send and what kind of NatWest account you have.
The first is Faster Payments. This is what most UK banks use to send payments between UK accounts, and in most cases payments arrive instantly.
With NatWest, you can send up to £20,000 per day via Faster Payments if you have a standard personal account. This limit increases to £50,000 if you have a premier or business account.¹
You can make your payment online or using the NatWest mobile banking app. Or if you prefer, you can also call the bank or visit your local NatWest branch to arrange a large transfer.
Need to send more than your daily transfer limit? You’ll need to use CHAPS (Clearing House Automated Payment System). This type of payment is specially designed for making fast, secure large transfers, and doesn’t usually have any minimum or maximum limits on how much you can send.
You’ll need to visit a NatWest branch to make a CHAPS payment, and there’s a fee of £23 to pay. This drops to £21 if you’re paying another NatWest account. ²
NatWest also lets you make international payments of large amounts, but these may also involve some money transfer fees.
NatWest is one of the ‘big four’ licensed banks in the UK and is strictly regulated.
In order to comply with regulations, NatWest is required to use sophisticated security measures to protect its customers’ data, money, accounts and transfers.
This includes protections such as:³
Once you’ve opened an account with NatWest, you can use online or mobile banking to send a Faster Payments transfer.
Remember though that you’ll only be able to transfer up to £20,000 a day (or up to £50,000 if you have a premier or business account).¹
You can also send international transfers online or using the NatWest app.

Along with the above, you’ll need additional details if you’re sending money abroad:

Then you can enter the amount you want to send along with any other required details - and confirm the payment.
If you want to send a larger amount than your daily transfer limit allows, you’ll need to head into a local NatWest branch to send a CHAPS payment. You’ll need to bring some ID and your debit card along.²
If you’re a NatWest premier customer, you can set up CHAPS payments via phone banking.²
