The Best European Cities For UK Students - Vienna

###Based on the factors you selected, the city perfect for you is… VIENNA

####Nightlife
Vienna is a city synonymous with the words ‘sophisticated’ and ‘intellectual’, but in recent years it’s learned to let its hair down.

Techno and electronic music are huge in Vienna, and there is no shortage of places to go and party. During the summertime, the party makes its way outdoors, and the city hosts a range of open air events for you to dance your way around.

####Culture
Vienna’s museum quarter is the tenth largest cultural quarter in the entire world. The area offers not only established museums, but also a wealth of restaurants and trendy bars. The district is an eclectic mix of old buildings and modern architecture nestled in the former imperial stables. Installations in the area are constantly rotating, so there is always something new to see.

No guide to Vienna would be complete without mentioning classical music and a visit to the Opera is a must. Tickets aren’t expensive, 6€ for standing admission at the State Opera, and the performances do not require you to dress up - just show up and listen.

####Value for money
Tuition is completely free in Austria for EU students, and even outside the EU, fees are cheaper than most countries. If that doesn’t save you quite enough money, the cost of living in the city is also fairly low. A cup of coffee will only set you back around £2.60 and a pint of something stronger costs around £2.70, affordable for most student budgets.

####International student community
Studying in Vienna means you’ll never struggle to find a fellow traveller. The city has a huge international student community - it comprises around 30% of the overall student population, much higher than most of the other universities in our study.

####History
Run down the cobbled streets in the City centre and immerse yourself in Vienna’s expansive history. Most of Vienna’s key historical attractions, the Hofburg Imperial Palace and St Stephen’s Cathedral, are contained in the inner city- you can even get a horse drawn carriage ride around the main sights.

It’s impossible to forget that Vienna was once a proud empire, and the grand architecture promises a beautiful backdrop, whatever the season.
