Wise Business: what’s new in 2018?

Business Team

We’ve had a busy start to 2018 and wanted to share what we’ve been working on.

Your business can now make transfers to China, Turkey, Egypt, and Nepal.

Mashup of the flags

Business should be without borders, so we’re excited to add Chinese Yuan, Turkish Lira, Egyptian Pound, and Nepali Rupee to the 60+ countries that we already support.

Chinese Yuan has been a particularly popular request. We’re currently working hard to also let businesses send US dollars to people and businesses outside of the US. This will be great if you have invoices from suppliers in China who want to be paid in US dollars. Watch this space.

Note: while your business can now send transfers to private individuals in Nepal, we do do not yet support sending Nepali Rupees to business accounts.

Fund batch payments quicker and more conveniently with your balance.

Batch payments

You can now create and send multiple transfers with one payment using our batch payment tool. It’s a huge time-saver when doing things like paying your overseas employees. Just upload a file and instantly create up to 1,000 transfers. File uploads are free and you get our usual real exchange rate and low fees.

We’re excited that now you can fund a batch payment with a balance from your borderless account. This speeds things up by instantly paying for your transfers, and saves you the time and hassle of having to make individual payments from your bank for each transfer.

Payees can get more if you paid them via Wise

You've found Wise Business already, so it probably doesn't shock you that other providers could inflate exchange rates by adding a mark-up on business payments instead of giving you the real one, like we do. But did you know they also could charge your payee a recipient fee?

That means, some providers could take a percentage of the total amount you’re sending across borders as profit. That's a great reason to move your invoice and freelancer payments over to Wise.

Codementor add Wise payouts as an alternative to PayPal.

Codementor and Wise logo

Codementor is the world’s largest community for developer mentorship. With so many members working across borders, people started to ask for Wise as an additional option to withdraw earnings from the platform, so we worked with Codementor to integrate our API. Now their mentors can get more of their hard earned cash in the currency they need.

What platforms do you want to see Wise as a payout option on? Let us know here and we’ll get working on it.
