Tallinn through a Wiser's lens - 43 years of change

Wise

Estonia is home to Wise’s founders Taavet and Kristo and some of the world’s leading technology companies, including Skype.

Last week Wiser Mark reached out to us with some pictures of his 1972 trip to Estonia's capital, Tallinn. The black and white imagery is so captivating that we couldn’t resist sharing it with you.

To visualise how Tallinn’s urban landscape mixes new and old our Tallinn team ventured out to recreate some of his scenes as they look in 2015. Here are the pictures from Mark Brayne, a self confessed Wise fan who's saved '1000s and 1000s' using our service:

Mark is planning to return to Tallinn, but this time on his bike. He plans to cycle from the UK to the Netherlands, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, on to Moscow, then from Beijing to Hanoi. (For the less athletic amongst us, there's also a Ryanair flight!)

Tallinn is often described as Europe’s most tech nation and is listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world.

Pretty cool for a country with a population of less than 1.5 million.

If you like what you see, Wise has an office in Tallinn - and we're hiring.
