Join the 3,000 people who now work at Wise

Nilan Peiris

As of today, 3,000 people from all over the world work at Wise.

Since 2011, we’ve grown from a small start-up, to a global company with 17 offices in locations including London, New York and Singapore, and Wisers from 90+ nationalities, along with a few office dogs.

We’re now helping over 11 million people and businesses save £1bn in fees every year. But we’re nowhere near the finish line: £150bn annually is still lost to hidden fees. Our mission of money without borders is an ambitious one, and we need great people to join us to help us get there.

That's why we’re looking to hire more than 1,000 people globally next year*, from Budapest to Singapore to our new office in Austin (yes, that's where we're opening our third US base). We’re hiring in all our teams, from product marketing, to engineering and customer support.

These roles will cover projects across our mission pillars, including working to lower fees, making payments faster for more markets, expanding the Wise Business offering, and building new partnerships around the world.

We may be a little biased, but it’s a really exciting time to join our mission.

2021 has been a big year at Wise. We celebrated our 10th birthday, rebranded from TransferWise to Wise, and became the first tech company to undergo a direct listing on the London Stock Exchange.

This has all been exciting, but we’re first and foremost a mission-driven business, and the progress we’ve made towards achieving our ultimate goal is what we’re most proud of.

We shipped some great things that helped our customers move money across borders:

  • We launched Assets, the UK’s first multi-currency investment opportunity, that allows real time spending for money held in stocks.
  • We established major partnerships, like our integration with the Google Pay App, which allowed US customers to send money to other Google Pay users in India and Singapore.
  • We enabled customers to receive money in any currency via their email address.
  • We opened new currency routes so customers can now send money from INR.

At Wise, we work in autonomous teams.

Building these products requires pretty unique ways of working. At Wise, we work in autonomous teams: we say that we’re like a group of startups within a scaleup.

How does this work, exactly? Each team can identify and solve problems for our customers, and collaborate in the way that suits them best. Equally, each Wiser can take ownership of their work, and have a direct impact on our customers. You can read more about what that looks like here.

Eleven years in, there’s still a lot of problems left to solve for our customers. Earlier this year, we launched our product roadmap to share regular updates with both customers and future Wisers on what we’re currently building, and what we’re planning to do in the future. We call this, “working with the garage door open”.

With plans like these, we need more people to join our mission worldwide to help us out. Check out our open positions here, and come help us build the future of international money.
