To unlock all the features of Wise, you’ll want to open a Wise Account online or in the Wise app.

Let’s take a look at the Wise Account personal limits you should know about:

Sending money from your USD balance

If you hold a USD balance in your Wise Account you can use it to send payments worth up to 6 million USD⁴.

Different personal limits apply if you’re sending by local transfer or SWIFT — but you’ll always be notified in the Wise app or on the desktop site if you hit a limit on a payment you’re trying to arrange.

Receiving money into your USD balance

If your Wise USD account information starts with 026, the following limits will apply⁵:

Limit
Per transfer20,000,000 USD
Per day20,000,000 USD
Per year35,000,000 USD

For accounts with 026 routing numbers, these limits do not apply if you choose Add USD when you add funds to your account, or if you’re converting from another currency balance within Wise.

If your routing information starts with 084 there are no limits to how much you can receive into your Wise Account⁵.

Hold and exchange 50+ currencies, get local bank details for 10 currencies, and send payments to 80+ countries. That means it’s easy to send, spend, and receive foreign currencies.

And when it’s time to exchange your funds to another currency, you’ll get the real mid-market exchange rate every time. There are no ongoing charges to pay — just low, transparent fees⁷ for the services you use.
