    What happens after I receive the money? 
  </h3>
  <p>
    Your payment will be added directly into the relevant currency in your Wise account — you'll see it under Transactions.
  </p>
  <p>
    Once the money is in your account, you can

      convert it to any available currency

    , hold it on your Wise account, or

    Fees and limits

    Most currencies have no receiving fees for domestic payments, with the exception of USD domestic wires. There is a fee to receive international (Swift) payments in most currencies.

    How do I check my account details?
  </h3>
  <p>
    Once you've opened your account details, on app or web:

        From Home, select one of your currencies

        Select the account details button just under the currency
      </p>
    </li>
    <li>

        You can view and copy your account details to share with others.

    What details should I provide for domestic payments?
  </h3>
  <p>
    Domestic account details are available for many currencies. These allow you to get paid like a local, wherever you are. For example, someone can pay you USD as if you’re located in the US — even if you’re actually somewhere else.

    Domestic payments are usually the cheapest and fastest way to receive money with your account details.
  </p>
  <p>
    When receiving a domestic payment, you'll typically need to provide the sender with these details:

        : Your account’s unique identifier within the bank.

        <b>(International Bank Account Number)</b>

         (for U.S.): A 9-digit code identifying your bank.

    For international payments, provide the sender with:

How do I receive money to my Wise account details?

    You can use money in your account to make payments, convert money between currencies, or spend money with your Wise card.

    There are a few different ways that you can add money to your account. 
  </p>
  <p>
    Please note — the methods on this page are for adding money to your main account within Wise, and 
    <b>not</b>
     for adding money to jars or groups.

    <b>How do I add money in the Wise app?</b>
  </h3>
  <p>
    This is also known as a top-up. You're topping up your account by adding money within the Wise app.
  </p>

    To add money:

    <b>How do I send myself money directly from my bank?</b>
  </h3>
  <p>
    This is also known as a third-party payment. Another way to add money to your account is to send it directly from your bank to your Wise account details via a bank transfer (direct deposit) like a third-party payment. You don’t have to set up a Wise transfer with this method. It will be the same as someone else sending you money to your account details.

    To send yourself money:

        , if you don’t have them already.

        Then, from your online banking, set up a bank transfer and add your Wise account details as the recipient.

How do I add money to my account?

    Wise is licensed to hold your money, and as part of keeping it safe, we follow strict rules set out by the regulators in the countries where we operate. 
  </p>
  <p>
    As of 30 June 2025, our customers are trusting us with the equivalent of 18.1 billion GBP in their Wise accounts.
  </p>
  <p>
    If you keep money with us, our regulatory obligation is to hold all of it in cash, secure liquid assets, or insured by a comparable guarantee. 
  </p>

    How is this different from a bank?
  </h3>
  <p>
    We don’t lend out your money. Banks do. This is why governments require them to insure their deposits by participating in country-specific deposit insurance schemes, like the

    </a>
     in the UK.

    Because we’re not lending your money, we handle it differently by safeguarding it.

    <b>How we keep your money available to you even during market turmoil</b>

    We make sure your money is safe and readily available to you. Most of your money is in secure liquid assets — such as EU, UK and US Government bonds, and money market funds as of 1 April 2024.

    For a government bond to fail, the government would need to default on their loan payments, which almost never happens with stable governments.
  </p>
  <p>
    The bonds we hold are mostly short-term bonds, so we’re not materially exposed to increasing interest rates, making us more resilient. 
  </p>
  <p>
    The average duration of the bonds we hold is under 6 months, with the majority of bonds having a remaining term of 3 months or less.
  </p>
  <p>
    The money that we put into banks, we hold it in several reputable banks with strong liquidity.
