Thinking of signing up for a Revolut account in the UK? One feature which can make it more attractive is the digital account provider’s rewards scheme - Revolut RevPoints.
In this guide, we’ll run through a full Revolut RevPoints review. This includes how you earn points, what you can spend them on and how to sign up for the loyalty scheme.
So, let’s get started.
RevPoints are points you earn for spending on your Revolut card, or for booking hotels via Revolut Stays. When you’ve collected enough, you can redeem them for rewards such as air miles and other travel perks.
The loyalty scheme is available to people who’ve signed up for a Revolut account, and the amount you can earn depends on your plan.
Depending on your plan, you’ll earn up to 1 point per £1 spent on your Revolut card.
Rewards are then available when you reach the following milestones:1
There are a few different ways you can earn RevPoints, including spending with your card and booking through Revolut Stays. Let’s take a look at the full list.
Spend with your Revolut card and you’ll earn:2
Another way to earn RevPoints is by booking hotels through Revolut Stays. In fact, you’ll get 2x the points when you do this.
Revolut Stays has over 1.8 million properties in 200+ locations, available to book through the Revolut app.3
You can earn additional RevPoints by completing challenges in the Revolut app, such as creating a budget or hitting a certain weekly spend threshold.
You can earn more RevPoints when you spend by upgrading your Revolut plan. It’ll also give you an upgrade bonus.
To earn your bonus, you’ll need to spend at least £2,000 within the first three months of upgrading. Do this and you’ll get an extra:2
The final way to earn RevPoints is to use the Revolut Spare Change round ups feature. For every €1 you round up into savings or Revolut Pockets, you’ll earn 50 RevPoints.1
You’ll need to open a Revolut account in order to join the loyalty scheme. But you do need to activate RevPoints in order to start earning points when you spend.
Here’s how to do it:
You can redeem RevPoints for air miles, hotel stays, experiences and shopping.
You’ll get one air mile for every RevPoint you earn.¹ You can use these miles on major airlines such as KLM, British Airways and Air France among others.
See how it compares with other air miles and frequent flyer schemes.
You can use your RevPoints for money off hotel stays all over the world, when you book through Revolut Stays. Earn 5,000 points and you’ll get up to €100 off.1
As well as Stays, Revolut also offers Experiences, from walking tours and yacht cruises to hot air balloon rides and spa breaks. The number of points required to redeem, and the discount you’ll get, depends on the individual experience as well as your Revolut plan.
You can get discounts on shopping at top brands when you pay with Revolut Pay. Take a look in the Revolut app to see which shops and brands are included.
There’s no upper limit to how many RevPoints you can earn, but remember that it’s all linked to spending. The more you spend, the more points you’ll earn. However, it’s not a good idea to spend beyond your means or buy things you don’t need.
RevPoints in your account are valid for three years, after which time they expire and can no longer be redeemed.4
You can check the expiry date for your RevPoints in the Revolut app.
If you’re a Revolut UK customer already, it makes sense to sign up for RevPoints. It’s free, so you have nothing to lose. If you’re a regular traveller, it could help to save you money on hotels and flights - as well as shopping.
Though it's worth noting that if you don’t have the foreign currency you need in your account at the time of paying, Revolut will do the conversion for you. So if you're travelling or spending on weekends, depending on the situation, you could end up paying their fair usage or weekend exchange fees.5
So if you're a regular traveller and want low, transparent fees*, even on weekends, why not check out other alternatives like the Wise card?
A Wise card can be used for spending and cash withdrawals in 150+ countries. It automatically converts your money to the local currency at the mid-market exchange rate whenever you spend. It’s compatible with mobile wallets, and can also be managed in the Wise app.
After reading this, you should be all clued up on RevPoints by Revolut in the UK. We’ve looked at how to earn points, and what kinds of things you can redeem them on.
You should be all set to decide if you want to sign up.
