Things to know before exchanging currency

3. Ask your local bank if they have any partners in Germany. If they do, there may be certain ATMs you can withdraw cash from for a reduced or waived fee. Also let your bank know you’ll be traveling to avoid having your card suspended for suspicious activity.
4. When using ATMs, avoid being charged in your home currency. As a general rule, don’t let the foreign ATM do any conversion for you.
