VOXI is a mobile network owned by Vodafone, and it uses Vodafone’s network too. But unlike Vodafone which offers lots of products and services including broadband and laptops, VOXI focuses on just phones and SIM-only deals.
VOXI offers a range of pay monthly and SIM-only plans for UK customers, along with the latest smartphones. You can also activate your SIM card on the VOXI website.
VOXI does allow international roaming. This means that if you’re a VOXI customer, you’ll be able to use your phone to get online and make calls when you’re outside the UK.
However, there could be charges depending where you’re travelling. In some destinations, you can use your UK allowance of data, calls and texts.
But in others, you’ll need to buy a roaming pass or package from VOXI before you travel. Each covers a set number of destinations. If your destination isn’t covered, you’ll either need to cough up for data roaming charges (usually priced per MB of data used) or turn off roaming altogether.
We’ll look at VOXI international roaming charges in more detail shortly.
VOXI customers should be able to use their devices in a wide range of countries worldwide, although there are some exceptions. Most of Europe is covered, along with 70+ other countries including:¹
You can check the full list of roaming destinations over on the VOXI website.
There are some specifics you need to know about certain destinations though. We’ll run through these next.
If you’re going to Europe, you’ll need to buy a VOXI European Roaming Pass. These are available in various durations to suit your trip:²
All options give you either 20GB of data or your inclusive plan data, whichever is less. You’ll also get unlimited texts and minutes.²
The pass activates as soon as you buy it, so it’s worth waiting until the day of your flight to order it.
There are some European destinations where you don’t need a European Roaming Pass. If you’re going to Iceland, Norway, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland, you can use your inclusive UK data, minutes and texts allowance just like you would at home.³
