Yes. You can make an international wire with Suncoast³, but to do so you’ll need to bear in mind a few important restrictions. We’ll look at these in more detail later.
You can only set up Suncoast international wires on federal business days between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM. That means you can’t make a payment on weekends, holidays, or in the evenings.
To set up your international wire with Suncoast you’ll have to call the Member Care Center at 813-621-7511 or toll free at 800-999-5887. Once you’re connected, you need extension 88400.
You’ll be able to speak to a member of the Suncoast team to complete your international wire securely.
Usually when someone arranges an international payment they’re asked for a SWIFT code. SWIFT codes are unique identifiers assigned to banks. They’re like zipcodes for international wires, and make sure that payments can be sent globally to the correct banks.
Suncoast does not have a SWIFT code. As there’s no Suncoast Credit Union SWIFT code, you can only receive payments from banks overseas which have a relationship with a correspondent bank that can send money to Suncoast using its ABA routing number.
Not all banks will be able to do this, so you’ll need to ask your sender to check if their own bank is able to make this arrangement.
The fees for sending a Suncoast Credit Union international wire are as follows⁴:
- Incoming international wire: 5 USD
- Outgoing international wire: 35 USD
Whenever you send an international payment it’s important to realize that there may be a few different fees applied.
