Chase Bank international wire transfer fee

It’s important to consider Chase’s international wire transfer fees. For example, it costs 50 USD to send an international wire in person. This includes wires to bank accounts outside the US in both US dollars or foreign currency.

It costs 40 USD to send an online US dollar international transfer – or 5 USD to send a foreign currency wire to a bank account outside the US.

💡 If you send 5000 USD or more, you may be exempt from Chase’s foreign currency international wire fees.³

Chase exchange rates

If you want to send money abroad, your bank will work out how much it costs to transfer US dollars into your desired foreign currency.

The mid-market exchange rate is the fair rate for currency conversion – but most banks will add a markup to make a profit from your exchange.

Chase Bank sets its own exchange rates for foreign currency transfers, including a “spread” to make money from your transaction.

This is the difference between how much the bank buys and sells currencies for – and it may be less favourable than the currency conversion rate you’ll see online.³

If Chase chooses to use an intermediary bank for your transaction, you may also end up paying more than expected for your foreign currency wire transfer.

This bank may convert your payment into the correct currency for your recipient – and this isn’t usually done at the standard mid-market rate.
