While the credit cards on this list all grant complimentary lounge access, they vary in terms of access, fees and additional features. Beyond, considering the lounge access that these cards allow, it is also useful to consider the card’s additional features.
This will help you decide on the credit card that is the best for your spending habits and lifestyle requirements.
Here are some considerations to keep in mind before you apply for a Hong Leong credit card with lounge access:

Keep your eye on latest news on Hong Leong cards in the event a new card is released, but for now, we'll go the two existing cards with lounge access.

The Hong Leong Visa Infinite card is a miles card that converts retail spending to Malaysian Airlines Enrich miles. Every 3.50 MYR spent locally is converted to 1 Enrich Mile, and every 2.20 MYR spent overseas is converted to 1 Enrich Mile.
If you are a Malaysian Airline loyalist, this card is a fuss free way to earn miles as you charge your expenses to your card. However, although there are no annual charges for this card, it does have a relatively high minimum income requirement of 150,000 MYR.

Like the Hong Leong Visa Infinite card, the Hong Leong Visa Infinite P automatically converts retail spend to Enrich miles. Every 3.50 MYR spent locally is converted to 1 Enrich Mile, and every 2.20 MYR spent overseas is converted to 1 Enrich Mile.
Beyond that, this card offers high complimentary travel insurance that is also extended to the cardholder’s family members. It covers grounds of missed flight connections, luggage loss and flight and luggage delay. To be covered, you just have to charge the full fare of your flight ticket to the card.
As with most Malaysian issued credit cards, using the Hong Leong credit card overseas will incur additional costs⁴. Expect 1% transaction fees imposed by Visa or MasterCard International on top of another 1% foreign exchange conversion mark-up imposed by the bank. Not only that, the foreign exchange fee is also determined by provider rates – this means you might not be privy to the best rates.
Cardholders will also be charged a 5% cash withdrawal fee or 20 MYR (whichever is higher) per transaction at overseas ATMs.
Having a Hong Leong credit card that allows complimentary lounge access is a convenient way to make your travels comfortable. However, when swiping your card or withdrawing cash at ATMs when you’re overseas with a credit card, transaction and administrative fees do add up. You will also be disposed to fluctuating foreign exchange rates charged by your provider.
For low, transparent fees to maximise your foreign currency spending, consider the Wise card for your overseas expenditure. Whether you’re opting for auto-conversion or converting your MYR in advance, you’ll always be subject to the rates that you see on Google, plus a small conversion fee.
With Wise, all currency conversions use the mid-market rate with low, transparent fees that start from 0.33%. You'll be able to use the international debit card in 150+ countries while holding and exchanging up to 40+ currencies. At times where you need cash, you’ll also be able to enjoy free ATM withdrawals every month which can come in handy when you’re away from home.
While comfort is key, remember to also travel smart with your Wise card.
