Cash App international wire transfer: Fees, limits, and rates
CashApp international wire transfer: fees, exchange rates, transfer times, limits, and step-by-step instructions to send money abroad safely.
Zolve is a US neobank for newcomers to the country, such as international students and professionals. If you have a Zolve account, you can set up a Zolve international wire transfer to get money into your US account or send it back to your home country.
Zolve started as a service for people relocating from India to the US, and much of its transfer product still centers on that route. That said, Zolve accounts are open to newcomers from other countries, too.
So, how does the Zolve international wire transfer work? Here's everything you need to know.
We'll also introduce Wise — your international money transfer alternative. Use Wise to send stress-free transfers to over 140 countries - all at the standard mid-market exchange rate.
Yes.
Zolve lets you receive international payments into your US account from anywhere in the world by ACH or wire, and it offers cross-border money transfers between the US and India that run on Wise's payment rails.¹
That said, Zolve is a little ambiguous about the full scope of what it supports. There isn't a lot of detail on the website, and nearly all of the published information focuses on transfers between India and the US.
If you plan to move money along a different route, you'll likely need to confirm what is possible inside the app or with Zolve support.
Zolve doesn't add any forex or processing fee, and it charges a flat 20 USD for International Wire Inwards, which is the fee for receiving an international wire into your Zolve account.²
This applies when you fund your US account from abroad, and explicitly for money remitted from India.
Zolve is less specific about fees on its other routes, so make sure to open the app and review the fee shown for the transfer you're trying to send to make sure that there are indeed no fees for outgoing transfers to countries that aren't India.
Zolve says it puts transparency first on exchange rates for both domestic and international transfers. To do that, it has partnered with Wise and SBM so users get what Zolve calls the lowest and "most transparent" rates available.¹
However, a transparent rate isn't the same as the mid-market rate.
The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices on the global currency market, and it's the rate you can look up on Google or any currency converter.
Zolve doesn't promise the mid-market rate, so the rate you receive may include a margin on top of it.
Send money to 140+ countries with the mid-market exchange rate and low, transparent fees with Wise. Set up a free Wise account online or in the Wise app, to transfer money fast in 40+ currencies.
Over 50% of Wise payments arrive instantly* — and all Wise transfers are deposited directly into your recipient's bank account for convenience.
No ongoing fees, no hidden charges and no hassle — just fast, transparent international transfers that can beat the banks.
*Transaction speed claimed depends on funds availability, approval by Wise’s proprietary verification system and systems availability of our partners’ banking system, and may not be available for all transactions.
Sending money with Zolve is fairly simple once your account is set up. Here's what you need to do to send a US-to-India transfer, which is the route Zolve documents most clearly:¹
- Open the Zolve app and go to the Add Money section
- Choose your source country and enter the details it asks for
- Type in the amount you want to send
- Complete your KYC details and confirm your identity with the OTP
- Add your personal details and your Indian bank account information, which has to be in your own name
- Review the transfer summary and choose your payment method
- Confirm and send the money
Once you confirm, Zolve processes the transfer and you can track its progress in the app.
Zolve doesn't publish a full checklist, but most international wires ask for the following:
- A government-issued ID, such as your passport, for identity verification
- Your completed Zolve KYC and account verification
- The recipient's full name exactly as it appears on their bank account
- The recipient's bank account number, plus the bank's name and address
- The routing number, SWIFT/BIC code, or IBAN, depending on the destination
- The amount you want to send and the currency
- The purpose of the transfer, which some routes require for compliance
If anything is missing or entered incorrectly, the transfer can be delayed or flagged for review, so make sure to double-check every field before you send your money.
Zolve doesn't provide a single timeline for transfers. In general, India-to-US transfers take around 4 business days, and US-to-India transfers take about 1 business day.¹
At the same time, the provider claims that transfers can be completed in "less than 24 hours" and even "within minutes," as long as nothing is flagged for review.¹
Because Zolve's own estimates vary this much, it's safest to treat under 24 hours as the best case and to expect longer if a transaction is flagged or falls over a weekend.
Zolve credits its faster times to Wise's payment rails.¹
Zolve gives you a yearly limit of 250,000 USD in line with the Reserve Bank of India's Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).¹
The LRS caps how much a resident individual can send abroad in a financial year, which is why this ceiling applies to Zolve's India-linked transfers.
Zolve gives you a few ways to get in touch, depending on what you need.
For general questions, you can email the team at hello@zolve.com. But once you have an account, the in-app support option is usually the fastest route to get answers to your questions.³
Zolve can be a convenient option if you're new to the US, especially along the India–US route, with a flat 20 USD fee on incoming international wires and no added forex or processing charge.¹
However, Zolve's public information is limited, and much of the product focuses on the India–US route. Its currency conversion rates are transparent, but they may not be the mid-market rate.
If your main goal is the best possible rate with no surprises, it's a good idea to compare Zolve against Wise before you confirm your transfer.
| With Wise, you can send up to 1,000,000 USD per wire transaction to 140+ countries, with the mid-market exchange rate and low, transparent fees. |
