Sendwave sets both daily and monthly sending limits for its users.
You can easily check your current limits and how much you've used by following these steps:
For certain countries, Sendwave discloses their standard international wire transfer limits. These countries include:
- Brazil
- Congo-Brazzaville
- Dominican Republic
- Gambia
- Guatemala
- Haiti
- Indonesia
- Madagascar
- Morocco
- Philippines
- Thailand
For these countries, the following limits apply:²⎺¹²
Verification level | Daily limit | Monthly limit |
---|---|---|
Basic | 999 USD / 999 GBP / 999 EUR | 2,999 USD / 2,500 GBP / 2,500 EUR |
After ID verification | 2,999 USD / 2,500 GBP / 2,500 EUR | 12,000 USD / 10,000 GBP / 10,000 EUR |
To increase your sending limits, you'll need to verify your identity with a government-issued ID. Once approved, your limits will increase to the higher tier. More on this later.
For the Sendwave-supported countries missing from the list above, you'll need to check your personal limits in the Sendwave app.
A few Sendwave-supported countries have additional transfer limits due to local regulations and partner requirements.
If you’re making an international transfer to these countries, keep these limits in mind:
Cameroon: MTN wallet transfers are capped at CFA 750,000 daily, CFA 5,250,000 weekly, and CFA 22,500,000 monthly. Orange wallet transfers have higher daily limits at CFA 2,500,000 but lower monthly caps at CFA 10,000,000¹³
Kenya: Safaricom M-Pesa limits users to 2 transfers of 250,000 Ksh per day to a single account, and no wallet can hold more than 500,000 Ksh. If your recipient's wallet is full, Sendwave will text them and retry the transfer daily after they've made space¹⁴
Mexico: Cash pickup services have lower limits, with Oxxo capped at 177 USD and Banorte at 499 per USD transfer. Any transfers over 500 USD will need extra verification¹⁵
Senegal: Wave Mobile Money wallets can hold up to 2 million CFA with no transaction or daily limits. However, recipients can't receive more than 10 million CFA in one month¹⁶
Tanzania: M-Pesa and Airtel users can receive up to 2 transfers of 3 million Tsh daily, with a maximum wallet balance of 5 million Tsh¹⁷
These limits are subject to change, but you should be able to clearly see your Sendwave limit in the app when you start your transfer.

You can check your Sendwave sending limit in the app if you go to Menu → My Limits.
This page shows both your daily and monthly sending limits, plus how much you've already used in the current period.²
It's sometimes possible to increase your Sendwave transfer limits, depending on where you’re sending money from. Here’s a look at some examples:
- Sending money from the US, UK, or EU: Sendwave will automatically raise your limits when you become eligible²
- Sending money from Canada: You'll need to request higher limits through the My Limits page in your app. Sendwave's team will review your request and let you know their decision²
- Sending money from other eligible countries: You can raise your limits by sending Sendwave a photo of your government ID.
That said, it's important to understand that Sendwave works best for sending relatively small amounts of money to friends and family.
If you need to make a large transfer, such as a down payment for an international property, you'll likely need to use an alternative like Wise.
Sendwave doesn't publish a list of fees on their website because they change based on where you're sending money and how much. You'll see the exact fee in the app before you confirm your transfer.
Some countries have no transfer fees at all, but others can cost 3% of your transfer amount, usually capped at a certain amount.¹
But fees aren't the whole story. Sendwave also makes money on exchange rates.
When converting your USD to another currency, Sendwave offers a rate that's less favorable than the actual bank-to-bank rate. This means even "free" transfers usually have a hidden cost in the exchange rate.
💡 Wise can help you save on exchange rate markups and hidden fees with large transfers. See how Wise compares and make a fast, cheap and secure international transfer: |

When making a large transfer, here are a few things to consider:
Transfer timing: Large wire transfers might take longer to process because they often go through additional security reviews
Sending multiple transfers: If you need to send more than your Sendwave limit per day, you'll need to spread your transfers across multiple days while still sticking to the monthly limit
Exchange rate markups: Sendwave charges a fee for currency conversions, and these currency exchange markups can affect the amount your recipient receives. Check Sendwave's rate against other providers like Wise before sending
For many of the Sendwave-supported countries, the highest transfer amount you can send is 2,999 USD per day or 12,000 USD per month. If you need to make a larger transfer, you'll likely need an alternative.
For many countries, Sendwave limits range from 999 USD to 2,999 USD per day, depending on your level of verification. For the most accurate information about your specific transfer limits and fees, check your Sendwave app.
To send money to 160 countries with high transfer limits, low fees, and no exchange rate markups, use Wise.
