What is Remitly Flex?

Remitly’s new membership program, known as Remitly One, offers a range of features for US customers, including annual wallet rewards, cashback benefits, and Remitly Flex.

Remitly Flex is a “send now, pay later” scheme. Remitly One members can get instant access to up to 250 USD, with no interest charges or credit checks.

This is a useful feature if you need to fund an instant transfer abroad. However, you’ll typically need to repay your advance within 90 days

What is Remitly Flex Plus?

Remitly Flex Plus is an alternative subscription service. You can apply for instant Remitly Flex advances, including multiple advances up to your Remitly Flex Plus limit.

You’ll pay 7.99 USD per month for Remitly Flex Plus. This is a good option if you don’t want to pay for Remitly One, but you still want access to instant funds.²

Remitly Flex: key features

Remitly Flex is Remitly’s new cash advance service. You can get instant access to between 50 USD and 250 USD to use towards a Remitly transfer.

The provider doesn’t charge fees or interest on Remitly Flex advances. Remitly One members can also take out multiple advances at once.

Although both Remitly One members and eligible non-members can apply for Remitly Flex, members will get access to a wider range of exclusive features.

Remitly One members can get instant funds, for example, as well as multiple withdrawals and flexible repayment options.¹

Eligible non-members will need to wait up to 3 business days for their money. They’ll also need to pay back their first advance in full before applying for another.³

Remitly Flex fees

Remitly One costs 9.99 USD per month. This gives you access to all membership features, including annual rewards, monthly cashback, and Remitly Flex.

As a Remitly One member, you’ll get access to Flex with no instant funding fees. However, you’ll still pay the provider’s regular transfer and exchange rate fees.¹

If you’re not a Remitly One member, you can choose to pay an instant funding fee to reduce your wait time. You’ll receive your cash within minutes, but you’ll pay 3.99 USD per advance.³

How to get Remitly Flex

You must meet certain eligibility criteria to access Remitly Flex. For example, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and a resident of the US.

You may also need to be in good standing with Remitly, which means you can’t apply for a cash advance if there are any issues with your account.³

Remitly Flex isn’t available in all states. You can’t currently apply for Remitly Flex in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Nevada, Maine, or Maryland, for example.

To access Remitly Flex, you can sign up for a Remitly One membership or check your eligibility via the provider’s website. The program is currently in its early stages, so you may need to join a waiting list.¹

How to cancel Remitly Flex

You can cancel your Remitly Flex Plus membership at any time, but you’ll need to give at least 3 business days’ notice before your next scheduled payment.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to cancelling Remitly Flex Plus:

Step 1. Navigate to the “Lending Home” page

Step 2. Select “More”

Step 3. Select “Manage Membership”

Step 4. Select “Cancel Membership”

You can also cancel your Remitly One membership via your account. You can continue to use the non-member Remitly Flex service at no extra cost, as long as you’re eligible and you’ve paid back any current Flex advances in full.²

Remitly Flex is a useful way to send now, pay later. However, you’ll need to look into exactly how much it costs to borrow money from Remitly.

You’ll also need to consider your eligibility criteria, particularly if you’re not a Remitly One member. Always do your research before applying for an advance.

Opening a Wise account is another option you can benefit from — it’s quick and simple to do it online with just a few clicks.
