With Revolut the exact card you get varies by account tier, but all accounts come with options for physical and virtual cards. Wise also offers physical and virtual cards to all users.
When you’re overseas you can use a Wise card to tap and pay globally, and your NZD will be converted to the currency you need with the mid-market rate and low conversion fees from 0.39%. Revolut cards convert your currency with the mid-market rate to your monthly plan limit, before applying a 0.5% fair usage fee. Out of hours fees of 1% might also apply here, if you spend while wholesale markets are closed. This out of hours fee is based on New York time, and means that spending from around lunchtime on Saturday (New Zealand time) to lunch time on Monday (New Zealand time) might cost you more.
