The ANZ Airport Visa Platinum is a credit card the bank offers its customers in New Zealand. The card comes with a range of benefits, including complimentary overseas travel insurance for cardholders and their families.
It's important to note that ANZ doesn’t have a separate travel insurance product that residents can purchase when they want to travel overseas. So, if you don’t have an ANZ Airport Visa Platinum credit card, you are ineligible for ANZ travel insurance.1

ANZ can request additional documents, such as your passport, residency visa, travel booking receipts, and other documents relating to your ANZ Premium card account.
Here is how to activate your travel insurance policy with the ANZ Premium card:3
ANZ has a maximum period of 90 consecutive days of insurance coverage for each trip. If your trip is longer than 90 days, you become entirely ineligible for coverage under the policy, even for the first three months of the trip.
Once abroad, if you need more time on your trip, you can extend your insurance coverage. Contact ANZ for details.

ANZ Premium overseas travel insurance does not cover any pre-existing medical conditions and medical expenses are not covered for people over the age of 75.
ANZ offers complimentary overseas travel insurance to ANZ Airport Visa Platinum credit cardholders. Unlike other travel insurance providers, the bank doesn’t provide different types of packages depending on your trip and destination. Instead, there is a single package with comprehensive coverage.
All you need to be eligible for ANZ overseas travel insurance is to have an ANZ Premium card and book your travel and other travel-related expenses with it.

The annual fee for an ANZ Airports Visa Platinum card is $150 NZD, and your minimum credit limit will be $8,000 NZD.
ANZ Travel Insurance is available with your ANZ Airports Visa Platinum credit card, so you don’t need to apply for travel insurance separately. However, you must check your eligibility:7
Keep in mind that though insurance coverage is available on your ANZ Airports Visa Platinum card, you must activate it before your travel dates.
If you have ANZ travel insurance, in most cases you’ll have to pay expenses upfront and then file a claim to be reimbursed. Here’s how you can file a claim online with ANZ:8
Once you submit your claim, you’ll receive an acknowledgment. The claim management team will contact you within ten business days with an approval decision or if they need more paperwork.
