You can then use the wallet to move money and make payments internationally¹. The wallet, however, does require a maintenance fee.

Receive money internationally with Skrill

The Skrill process is fully online, so there aren’t any physical locations or cash pickup options available. You can get deposits directly into a bank account or sign up for a Skrill digital wallet to then move the funds into your bank account or use on Skrill.

You can receive international money transfers from Skrill directly into your bank account. Make sure your sender has the personal information required to send the transfer. This includes, but not limited to, your name, address, date of birth, email address, phone number, and bank details.

To receive money from abroad through the Skrill wallet, you will need to open the email sent from Skrill to your email address about the transaction and sign up for the Skrill digital wallet. It only takes a few minutes. The money should be available in your digital wallet to then keep and use³. Skrill has 15,000 merchant partners where you can then spend from your Skrill wallet without any charges⁴. You can then move those funds into your own bank account.

The benefit of the digital wallet is that you wouldn’t have to share your personal details with the sender and they could send it to you using your email address.

For residents of certain Eurozone countries, Skrill also offers a VISA or Mastercard that is linked directly to your Skrill wallet that you can use for daily purchases. Depending on the country, you may need to verify your identity before receiving the transferred funds. Skrill will provide details on how to do so if applicable.

But if you are receiving funds into a Skrill wallet you will have to pay a fee to transfer the money from the wallet into a local bank account. The processing fee to do this is 5.50 EUR (or the account currency equivalent).

For receiving money in a currency other than your sender’s currency, Skrill adds a 3.99% fee to the exchange rate.⁵

If you are making a purchase with one of the merchants on Skrill using your wallet, the transaction is free of charge. However, check to see if the merchant has any charges.

How much time does it take to receive money with Skrill
