Yes, Indian citizens need a visa to enter Serbia starting from January 01, 2023. Earlier, the Republic of Serbia allowed visa-free entry for all Indian passport holders for stays up to 30 days. But now, Indians have to apply for a Serbian visa at the Embassy of Serbia in New Delhi.¹
However, Indian passport holders with a valid Schengen, UK, or US visa or a residency permit can enter Serbia without a Serbian visa. They can stay for up to 90 days within a 6-month time span for as long as their UK, US or Schengen visa or permit is valid. (Passport holders of these countries do not require a visa.)
Serbia offers three types of visas to Indians:²
The visa type depends on the length of stay in the country.
Indian tourists visiting Serbia must apply for a Short Stay Visa (Visa C), allowing them to stay for up to 90 days in Serbia. This visa can be for tourism, business, or other travel. The Visa C allows multiple entries into the Republic of Serbia, but you can only stay for a total of 90 days within six months from the date of first entry.³
Indians visiting Serbia on employment or work contracts, business engagements or stays requiring an extended amount of time in the country must apply for the Long Stay Visa (Visa D). This visa allows Indians to stay in Serbia for between 90 and 180 days. You will need to show evidence of an employment contract or invitation with your visa application.⁴
If you are headed beyond Serbia on your trip and are just passing through the country you must show evidence of a visa to the onward country.⁵
The Serbian visa cost depends on the visa type. The visa fee is payable to the embassy’s bank account when applying for a Serbian visa. You can pay the fees in Indian Rupees or Euros by bank transfer. Children up to six years old are exempt from the visa fee.⁶
Type of visa | Cost in Euros | Cost in Indian Rupees |
---|---|---|
Visa C | EUR 60 | INR 5,300 |
Visa D | EUR 30 | INR 2,700 |
There is also an additional visa sticker fee of EUR 2 or INR 200 for each visa once it is granted. Children under six years are not exempt from the visa sticker fee.
