If you’re an AAA® member, ordering euros is a simple way to get cash for your European vacation.
Placing a euro order can ensure you have enough cash for your trip – and you can avoid high fees at foreign exchange services in your destination country. However, you may need to pay to exchange your US dollars for euros.
We take a look at exactly how to order euros from AAA, including any costs, fees, and exchange rate charges. Get everything you need before heading abroad!
AAA partners with Currency Exchange International (CXI)® to offer easy cash currency pickup services in more than 80 currencies.¹
You can order your euros online or in person with AAA. If you place your order in person, you won’t be subject to any order limits. However, you’ll need to order at least 100 USD and no more than 2,999.99 USD if placing your order online.¹
You can access next-day delivery for free if you order your euros before 3pm local time, but you may also need to meet certain minimum purchase order requirements. This can differ from branch to branch.¹
You can also choose to order your euros directly from CXI. Call or visit your local branch to place your order – or buy foreign currency online for home or in-store delivery.²

Step 1. Go to the AAA foreign currency services website and select “Order Now”
Step 2. Fill out the necessary details and use your credit or debit card to pay for your order
Step 3. Get your cash order delivered to your home address or pick it up from your local branch¹
If you place your order on a weekday before 3pm, it should be processed on the same day. However, if you place your order after 3pm, your order won’t be processed until the following business day.¹
AAA uses CXI as its foreign exchange provider. Unfortunately, CXI doesn’t display its exchange rates or fees online, so you’ll need to check with your local branch before placing your order.³
You can access Currency Price Protection from CXI. This means that, when you return from your European trip, you can access a Special Buy Back rate to sell leftover currency. This service costs 5.95 USD.²
Make sure to speak to your local AAA branch for further advice and support about how much it’ll cost to exchange your dollars for euros, as there may be additional charges.
All banking and money transfer platforms use an exchange rate to work out how much it’ll cost to convert your currency. It’s important to look out for the mid-market exchange rate, as this is closest to the ‘real’ value of your currency.
However, many providers add a markup to make a profit from your transaction. These costs can add up – especially if you’re making multiple transfers.
CXI offers a Best Rate Guarantee for foreign currency exchanges. Your CXI City Center branch will match or beat the exchange rate you receive from a local bank or airport for the same foreign currency exchange on the same day.
You can only get this offer at a CXI City Center (company-owned) location – and you can’t access CXI’s Best Rate Guarantee if you’ve already completed your exchange.²
Your exchange rate may vary depending on when you convert your money – and it won’t necessarily be the mid-market rate you see on Google®.⁴

You can’t order more than 2,999.99 USD online for home delivery from AAA.
However, if you place your order in person at an AAA branch, you won’t be subject to a minimum or maximum purchase amount.

AAA also restricts digital currency conversion orders to at least 100 USD and no more than 2,999.99 USD.
Yes, you can pay for your AAA euro order by credit or debit card. However, CXI doesn’t accept international credit cards or prepaid cards.⁵
