Let’s take a look at the main fees you’ll need to know about when using Broxel Pay and the Broxel Pay card⁵:
Service type | Broxel Pay fee |
---|---|
Fee to get a Broxel Pay card | 5.99 USD |
Monthly card fee | 3.50 USD |
Add money | Fees apply to add money in cash, no Broxel Pay fee to add money from your bank |
ATM withdrawal | 1.50 USD local fee in the US 1 USD fee outside of the US Additional fees may be added by the ATM operator |
International payments | Transfer money to a bank in Mexico - 3.99 USD + possible exchange rate markup |
When you send a payment to Mexico or the US, and currency conversion is required, Broxel Pay will show you the exchange rate that applies⁶.
That rate may include a markup - a fee which is added to the mid-market exchange rate. You’ll need to check the Broxel Pay exchange rate against the mid-market rate which you can get from Google, to see if there has been a markup used. If there has, this may push up the overall cost of your transfer.
A smart option if you’re sending money overseas: meet Wise.
Register a Wise account online or in the Wise app, and send money to 70+ countries, with the mid-market exchange rate and low, transparent fees.
Wise always shows you the amount you’re paying and how much your recipient will get — and you can even compare against other providers on the Wise app or desktop site.
If another service is cheaper for your particular payment, you’ll be shown — so you can’t lose.

Broxel Pay is helpful if you need to hold both USD and MXN, and want easy ways to send payments in both currencies to other Broxel Pay customers.
You can also send ACH transfers in the US, and get a linked debit card to spend from your account. It’s possible to top up your account with cash or electronically from your bank, to make spending, sending and withdrawing money simple.
Broxel Pay is only available to residents in the US and Mexico, and the services are aimed at people looking to hold pesos and dollars only.
You can send money to Mexico from the US, but only to other Broxel Pay account holders - so if you want to use it to send money to loved ones in MXN you’ll need to ask them to register a Broxel Pay account first.
Ongoing fees apply if you order a debit card, and there are transaction charges if you’re making an ATM withdrawal or sending a payment to someone else.
Broxel Pay can be helpful if you need a digital account to hold MXN and USD, and to send payments to banks in the US or Broxel Pay account holders in the US and Mexico.
There’s also a linked card available for spending and withdrawals, but ongoing fees apply here.
If you’re looking for something more flexible, which lets you send and receive a broader selection of currencies it’s worth checking out Wise.
You’ll be able to apply for a Wise account from the US, Mexico and more or less anywhere else in the world, to hold 40+ currencies and send money to 160+ countries with the mid-market exchange rate.
There are no ongoing fees and no minimum balance requirements, making it a cheap and simple way to manage your money from the US, Mexico and globally.
