A study of Italians living in the US
Did you know that there are 356,831 people living in the US who were born in Italy?
We did some research to find out as much as we could about Italian expats here in the US. And we think we found some pretty interesting stuff.
It’s no surprise that New York City is home to the largest concentration of Italians. However, Miami Beach, is where you are most likely to run into a Italian expat. For every 100 people you meet in this city, at least one was born in Italy!
We dug into data from the US census and the social media profiles of over 200,000 Italian expats to reveal what the top interests are for Italians who live in the US.
Will Smith ranks as the most popular celebrity with 34,000 likes. Making him 3 times more popular than the most popular Italian celebrity Eros Ramazzotti, at 10,000.
Albeit perhaps for entertainment value as much as anything else, Donald Trump takes in 12,000 likes from the Italians. Compare that to the 5,900 likes for the Democratic presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton.
Take a look below to see just what else we found!
