The type of winter clothes you’ll need will differ based on where your destination is. Different winter clothes will be required depending on whether that location has snow, whether you’re looking to enjoy winter sports like skiing and also how low the temperature gets, especially at night.
Before you make any purchases, you should consider all these factors as well as other requirements that you might need from your clothing, such as wind-proofing or water-proofing for your outer layers or thick boots if you’re particularly prone to your toes getting cold.
Singapore has a hot and humid climate all year round, so clothing stores here are typically geared towards offering clothes that are cooling and airy. Despite that, it’s certainly possible to find plenty of winter clothes in Singapore from plenty of brands.
Here are some options for you to consider.
Where to buy winter clothes in Singapore
While Singapore doesn’t experience the four seasons, stores here still have a wide range of winter clothes - not to forget specialty shops for such apparel and gear. Apart from smaller shops with great deals, there are also larger brands that have plenty of outlets islandwide, and we’ll be starting this guide with one of them.
With 30 stores across Singapore¹, there’s bound to be at least one Uniqlo outlet near you somewhere. This Japanese brand needs no introduction, with Singaporeans donning both formal and casual Uniqlo apparel.
Uniqlo is famous for offering great quality at low prices, and if you’re wondering where to buy cheap winter clothes in Singapore, you’ll certainly get a lot of value in Uniqlo’s pieces. If you’re looking to get affordable thermal innerwear and down parkas that have a high fill power, Uniqlo is a fantastic option.
Uniqlo has a seasonal strategy, so it doesn’t stock winter clothes all year round, but essentials like HeatTech thermal innerwear are available most of the year. Outerwear like puffer jackets, down jackets and coats have started being stocked in preparation for people travelling to cold countries as well.
If you’re planning on a skiing trip or doing some winter sports, you’ll want to consider winter clothes that are more tailored towards meeting certain requirements, and you’ll most likely be able to find something in Decathlon.
This sportswear shop sells everything from base layers to fleece jackets, down jackets and hiking boots that will keep your feet warm while trudging through the snow. There are also plenty of accessories like skiing gloves, beanies, neck warmers and more.
It might not be particularly fashionable or have loud style and designs, but it’s certainly a great option if you’re looking for hardy clothing that will be able to accompany you up the mountains. Thanks to Decathlon’s products all being their house brand, they’ve managed to keep prices low while still offering decent quality.
You might have seen Winning’s logo before, particularly if you’ve ever purchased a sleeping bag. Started in 1991², Winning has been producing outdoor and winter gear, with products like down jackets, gloves, backpacks, luggage and more.
There are only two outlets in Singapore, one at Causeway Point and another at Hougang Mall, but it’s definitely worth a trip down to check out their offerings if you’re looking for value-for-money winter wear in Singapore.

With a name like Winter Time, it’s no surprise that this shop offers everything to do with, you guessed it, winter clothing. Winter Time is a popular shop that sells winter clothes, thermal wear and accessories for men, women and kids. With the wide variety of products available, it might be a great one-stop shop since Winter Time also offers luggage as well.
Winter Time also participates in a number of sales and travel events throughout the year, offering discounts and markdowns, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out to try and score some good deals on their products.
If you’re comfortable with shopping in Chinese, e-commerce platform Taobao is a fantastic place to look. This Chinese shopping platform has thousands of sellers and a huge variety of styles and budgets to pick from. Even if you don’t feel comfortable with Chinese, there are workarounds like Google Translate or even an English version of the app if you’re shopping on mobile.
The one downside is that you won’t be able to try on the clothes before you purchase them, so the important tip we have is to try and purchase items from sellers that offer local returns so that you’ll have an easier time returning items that don’t fit. You’ll be able to find basically anything you want on Taobao, from down parkas to sweaters, pants, boots and more.
If you’re paying for your Taobao loot in CNY, the Wise card will come in handy here to avoid conversion fees that other cards might charge.
