How to transfer Wise to GCash - step-by-step

It’s easy to send money from Wise to GCash online - or you can choose to send from the Wise app to GCash if you’d prefer. You’ll be able to set up the transfer, and will see the Wise to GCash transfer fee and Wise to GCash transfer time on screen before you confirm. That allows you to check everything over and compare any fee, and the exchange rate you’ll get depending on what currency conversion is needed.

Here’s how to transfer money from Wise to GCash, step by step.

Log into your Wise account online or in the Wise app
Tap Send, and then Add a recipient
You’ll be prompted to confirm PHP as the currency you want to send to and select Enter bank details
Select who is your recipient (yourself, someone else or a business)
Select E-Wallet and GCash as the wallet provider
Enter your recipient’s name, E-Wallet number and address if requested
Follow the prompts to enter the amount you want to send
Choose the option to send from your Wise balance or other payment methods, shown in the drop down box
You’ll be prompted to confirm the purpose of the transfer
Check and confirm the transfer once you're happy with everything

How long does it take to send Wise to GCash?

So, if you’re sending money from Wise to GCash how long will it take to arrive? Wise transfers are often instant, but in some cases, they may take 1-2 days depending on the currency you're sending from. What you need to pay to send money from Wise to GCash will depend on a few different factors, including the currency or currencies you have in your Wise account. Any applicable fee will be shown clearly before you confirm the transfer so you can check it and compare with alternative options.

Wise fees include:

A low, fixed fee which covers the cost of the transfer
A variable fee from 0.33%, which covers the cost of converting currencies
VAT payable on the fees, set at 12% of the fee cost

That can be a lot to take in - but it’s helpful to know that Wise is completely upfront about the fees, and doesn’t hide any charges in the exchange rate being used. This isn’t the case with all banks or money transfer services. Instead, it’s common to find that a percentage charge is rolled up into the exchange rate offered to convert your payment to PHP. This is tricky to spot, but pushes up the cost all the same. Wise believes in being transparent so doesn’t add any fee into the rate, and shows the costs you’ll pay as a separate item so you can easily see them.

There’s not usually any fee from GCash when receiving a payment as a remittance².
