GoTyme Bank is a digital bank which was formed through a partnership between the Gokongwei Group, and the Singapore based digital banking group Tyme2. GoTyme Bank offers customers various banking services, including an account for saving and spending, which comes with the option to order a free GoTyme debit card.

The GoTyme Card is linked to your bank account, allowing you to spend and withdraw your balance conveniently here and when you travel. You can also earn reward points on your card spending which you can convert to cash. As GoTyme partners with popular retailers, there are also great opportunities to earn bonus points if you shop with GoTyme Bank preferred partners.

Read on for more on how to get a GoTyme Card in the app or in person, and what you can do with your card once you have it.

    GoTyme Card benefits

The GoTyme Card can be used to spend from your GoTyme account, and to make cash withdrawals. You can use your card at home and abroad wherever the network is accepted, including at GoTyme co-branded ATMs which have no fee, and at other out of network ATM terminals for a charge.

The key GoTyme Card benefit - apart from convenience - is that you can earn GoTyme Points as you spend. GoTyme Card points can be converted to 1 PHP as cash added to your account, and earning levels are set depending on where you happen to be. You’ll earn 1 point for every 600 PHP spent on most transactions, but you can earn 3x the number of points when you spend with GoTyme partner retailers which include Cebu Pacific and Robinsons.

GoTyme offers a physical card and a virtual card for customers. This means that you can order your physical card and then start using your virtual card right away if it's not convenient to collect your card immediately. Virtual cards can be used online and in app for simple spending. You can’t use them in an ATM though - you’ll need your physical card for that.

    Is GoTyme a credit card?

GoTyme does not offer credit or loans at the time of writing. The GoTyme Card is a debit card which is linked to your GoTyme account. When you spend the funds are deducted from your account balance instantly. You’ll need to make sure you have enough in your account to cover the costs of your purchases or withdrawals - or your transaction will be declined.

Where can I withdraw using a GoTyme Card?

You can make ATM withdrawals anywhere the card network is accepted - either in the Philippines or overseas. If you're taking out cash in the Philippines, look out for GoTyme co-branded ATMs, which have no fee for cash withdrawals or for balance enquiries. There are 14 co-branded ATMs at the time of writing, which we’ve listed out below - and more are being rolled out all the time.

    • Giga Tower, Quezon City
    • Estancia Mall, Pasig
    • Gateway Mall II, Quezon City
    • Landers Superstore U.P. Town Center, Quezon City
    • Landers Superstore Nuvali, Laguna
    • One Ayala, 1226 Metro Manila
    • Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), Metro Manila
    • Robinsons Place Manila, 1000 Metro Manila
    • Robinsons Galleria, Metro Manila
    • Robinsons Cyberscape Gamma, Metro Manila
    • Robinsons Magnolia, Quezon City
    • Ayala Malls Vertis North, Quezon City
    • Spark Place, Quezon City
    • Robinsons Antipolo, 1870 Metro Manila

There’s a full list of locations including popular malls and stores, available on the GoTyme Bank website, so you can keep up as more are added.

If you use another type of ATM the chances are that you’ll pay a fee. The fee is set by the ATM operator, and paid to the operator rather than to GoTyme. Unusually ATM fees are 15 PHP to 18 PHP, although this can vary. You’ll see the fee on the ATM screen before you complete your withdrawal so you can find an alternative if the cost is too high.

Where can I use my GoTyme Card?

You can use your GoTyme Visa card conveniently for payments and withdrawals at home and overseas.

If you’re spending in PHP the amount is deducted from your GoTyme account instantly. If you’re overseas the costs will have to be converted to PHP before they can be debited from your account. GoTyme states that their foreign exchange fees are competitive and could help you save money when you're transacting in a foreign currency. If you’re unsure about the exchange rates being used when you spend with your GoTyme Card overseas, you can check with the bank by opening a chat or calling into a kiosk before you leave the Philippines.

GoTyme also lets customers take out cash at ATMs around the world. If you’re making a foreign ATM withdrawal, there’s no GoTyme fee to pay, but the ATM operator may charge a fee - it's the same if you use an out of network ATM in the Philippines.

How to get a GoTyme Card

GoTyme prides itself on offering excellent service - delivered through people rather than bots. To get a GoTyme Card you’ll need to call into a bank kiosk, but ordering your card online can save time when you get there.

It’s good to know that even people who don’t live in the Philippines will need to call into a physical location to get a card from GoTyme. If you’ve ordered your card and you're overseas, you can access a virtual card to spend with before you collect your physical GoTyme card at a kiosk.
