How to install the eSIM on your device

What needs to be done to install an eSIM varies slightly depending on which device you’re using.¹

Setting up an eSIM on an Apple or iOS device

Here’s what you need to do if you own an iPhone or another type of Apple device and have purchased a Everyday Mobile from Woolworths eSIM.

  1. Check your device is eSIM comparative
  2. Connect to internet via Wi-Fi or an active SIM card with mobile data
  3. Open the camera app app and scan the QR code that was sent via email
  4. On the “Set Up Mobile Plan” screen select “Continue”
  5. At the “Add Mobile Plan” screen press “Add Mobile Plan”
  6. On the “Mobile Plan Label” screen choose “Primary” or “Secondary”
  7. Select the label you want to use before pressing “Done” then “Continue”

Here’s some of the others settings you then need to address

  • In “Default Line” choose if you want to use the primary or secondary SIM to call and send messages
  • In “iMessage and FacetIme” choose if you want to use the primary or secondary SIM for those features
  • Toggle “Allow Mobile Data Switching” on if you want you phone to use date from all available phone lines based on coverage and availability

Setting up an eSIM on a Samsung device

If you have a Samsung device there are a few less steps to take care of to set up your eSIM.

  1. Check whether your device is eSIM comparative
  2. Connect to internet via the Wi-Fi or an active SIM card with data
  3. Open the camera app app and scan the QR code received by email
  4. On the “Add this plan to your phone” screen select “Continue”

The phone will then add the eSIM plan to your mobile, automatically putting it into your SIM card manager. From the SIM card manager you can assign nicknames and icons for SIMs and determine permissions for data and voice messages.
