Vodafone Australia international roaming allows customers to use their phones abroad for a capped fee of $5 AU per day with their $5 Roaming service.
By paying $5 extra per day on top of their standard bill, Vodafone Australia customers can use their included minutes, texts and data plan while travelling abroad.²
If you have an existing contract, you will be able to use the Vodafone Australia $5 Roaming service via a mobile phone, tablet, or modem to use your existing calls, minutes and data. You will be charged $5 AU per day when you begin using the features of your included plan while travelling abroad.²
For customers using a Prepaid phone service, there are three international roaming packages to choose from³:
Internet data and coverage internationally are included within the Vodafone Australia roaming services.²
This will include your current data plan if you already have a contract with Vodafone, or will include the data limit selected on a prepaid plan.²
In terms of cost, you can either go for one of Vodafone’s prepaid packages or choose their $5 Roaming service where you use your existing data plan and pay a $5 AU daily fee to use these abroad.²
If you’re travelling with a prepaid plan, Vodafone offers Prepaid Roaming Add-ons that can be used in certain countries. This allows you to keep your normal Australian phone number while travelling abroad.³

Once plans have expired, Prepaid international roaming rates will be charged which include the following⁴:
If you’re already a Vodafone Australia customer with a subscription or contract package, the $5 Roaming service allows you to use the calls, data, and texts included in your plan while travelling in selected countries.²
You will be charged $5 extra on your existing contract per day when using your included services abroad.²
This service is provided for customers on a Vodafone Infinite, Plus Plan, or Vodafone Infinite Data Plan. This excludes data capped at speeds of up to 1.5Mbps, 2Mpbs, 10Mbps, and 25Mbps. Once you begin using your included data/calls/minutes, you’ll be charged the $5 fee.²
For customers on a Vodafone Ultra+ Plan, your unlimited data can be used, however, if over 30GB of Hotspot data is used you’ll be charged $5AU for every additional 1GB used.²
The Vodafone Australia $5 roaming service will activate automatically upon switching your phone on in a permitted country.²
You can check roaming has been activated by logging into your My Vodafone account via the app or internet browser.²

VoLTE is an abbreviation for Voice Over LTE, which is a feature that allows you to make calls in Australia using the Vodafone 4G network (compatible devices on eligible plans only).
