Does Rite Aid do money orders?

Yes, Rite Aid offers money orders through Western Union.¹

Western Union is a global financial services company that allows you to send money to over 200 countries and territories.² You should be able to find a Western Union desk or booth at most Rite Aid locations.

A money order is a piece of paper, like a check, that you buy with cash or a debit card. But unlike a personal check, a money order is guaranteed because you pay for it upfront.

People typically purchase money orders when they can't use a bank transfer or a personal check.

How much is a money order at Rite Aid?

Rite Aid doesn't have transparent information about money orders on their website. However, third-party sources claim that the Rite Aid money order fee is 0.90 USD per order.³

At the end of the day, it's best to check with your local Rite Aid.

If you need to send an international money order, keep in mind that Western Union also makes money from currency exchange.²

For example, if you're sending 100 USD to a country that uses EUR, Western Union may use an exchange rate that's less favorable than what you see on Google and you'll end up paying that difference.

Rite Aid money order limit

Western Union typically caps their money orders at 1,000 USD, but the Rite Aid money order limit is actually 500 USD

You can reportedly purchase up to six money orders per day with a combined limit of 2,999 USD

Typically, people only use cash money orders for smaller purchases. For larger amounts, you're better off going with another option, such as a bank transfer.

Can I send money overseas with a Rite Aid money order?

Western Union allows you to send money to over 200 countries and territories, but money orders aren't the best way to send money internationally.¹

Banks in other countries typically don't accept money orders. So, you can mail a money order to another country, but it'll be hard for your recipient to cash it and get their money.

Plus, money orders are notoriously hard to track. You won't know where your money order is once you've sent it - only if it has been cashed. This can be stressful if you're sending money far away.

Overall, if you need to send money to another country, it's better to look for other options.
