Businesses registered in Hong Kong can receive money from international clients by using their account details with Wise.
Once you receive the money, we’ll automatically convert it to HKD and send it to your external bank account — you won’t be able to hold money on your Wise account.
How do I set up my Wise Business account?
Sign up for a Wise Business account and fill in the necessary details about your business
Choose the currencies you want to have account details for and finish the verification steps
You'll need to provide your external Hong Kong bank account details where we’ll send your payments to
Wise will verify your Hong Kong business account within 4-7 working days
How do I receive money?
Once your account is verified, you can share your account details with your clients so they can send you money
They can pay from their bank account, or their Wise balance if they have one
Once we receive the money, we’ll
automatically convert the money into HKD
then transfer it to the Hong Kong business bank account that you provided during verification
The amount you receive in your Hong Kong business bank account will be net of the fees that Wise has charged on that particular payment.
The payment will show up in your bank account as sent from Wise Payments Limited.
What currencies can I receive?
You can receive both local and global payments to your Wise account.
To receive money, just share your account name and details to your clients, so they can send you the amount from their bank account or Wise account.
Local account details
With local account details, you can receive money by domestic bank transfer in the countries that use that currency. For example, receiving GBP from the UK.
Wise provides local account details to Hong Kong businesses to receive money in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HUF, NZD, SGD, TRY.
Global account details
With Global account details you can receive money from most countries via Swift international payments. For example, if receiving USD sent from a bank account in the UK.
Wise provides global account details in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HUF, NZD, SGD, USD, BGN, CHF, CZK, CNY, ZAR, UGX, AED, ILS, DKK, HKD, JPY, NOK, SEK, PLN, RON.
How long does it usually take for the money to arrive?
Once Wise receives and converts your money, it usually takes 1–3 working days to arrive in your bank account. Conversion can take up to 2 working days.
Payments received via global account details take longer, as they might go through correspondent banks, so it can take up to 5 working days
How much are the fees?
There are fees for converting and sending money, which we’ll deduct before we send the money to your HKD bank account. View the fees on this page by entering the currency and amount your client is sending you.
When receiving USD, there’s a fee to receive domestic and international wires, and for CAD there’s a fee to receive international wires. Check those fees here
For global Swift payments, intermediary banks that help send this money can sometimes deduct their own fees from the sender's amount — Wise can't change this. You can ask your sender to opt for the OUR charges — this option allows the sender to cover all the correspondent charges.
How much can I receive?
You can receive up to 20 million HKD or equivalent per transfer.
Can I hold or send money using the account details?
No, these account details can't be used to send money or hold money in balances. We automatically convert the funds to HKD and send them to your Hong Kong bank account once they are deposited into the account details.
Is there any other information I need to know?
If we’re unable to deliver the money to your HKD bank account, such as due to an invalid HKD bank account, we’ll return the money back to the original sender.
How can I view or change my HKD bank account?
If you need to view or change the bank account that you receive your payments from Wise, please contact our customer support team so we can update it for you.
We’ll need the full name on your bank account and your full bank details if applicable.
