You have two options when sending money from CNY:
You can send CNY from your Wise balance. When choosing this option, the requirements below don’t apply.
You can set up a bank transfer from your Chinese bank account. When you are sending CNY from your bank account in China, you need to send us additional documents so we can verify you.
I am sending CNY for the first time. What documents do I need to submit?
You will need to send the following documents:
Residence Permit OR Work Permit OR Visa OR China Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card OR Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, OR Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents
Employment contract OR payslip OR Bank statement OR Declaration by employer
Personal income tax record
You'll need to take a photo of your passport when being verified, so you'll need to have it with you during verification. For the other documents, you can upload copies. You can refer to the sample documents to see what is required.
The tax record should cover the longest time period possible. We use your tax record to calculate the limit of how much you can send out of China. The longer you have paid tax in China, the more you can send.
If your tax record shows your old passport number, please also upload a copy of your old passport when asked for your tax record.
If my residence permit has expired can I still send from CNY?
Yes. The same applies for the other work eligibility documents that we accept, e.g. Visa, as you only need to prove that you were once eligible to work in China.
What are the requirements for my documents?

How long does verification take?
We’ll start reviewing your documents once we have received the money for the transfer. From there we’ll work to get it done within 1-2 working days.
When successfully verified, we’ll automatically payout your transfer and let you know by email.
