Using Pix with Wise

We offer Pix to customers and businesses with addresses registered in Brazil. By registering a Pix key, you can receive money into your account in BRL. You can also send money from your BRL to your or to your contact's PIX keys. Learn more on Sending Money with Pix.

With a Pix key, you don't need to share account details with the sender — the key is all the information they'll need.

You can have up to 5 Pix keys registered to your Wise account; businesses may have up to 20 keys. These can be your CPF, CNPJ, phone number, or email address. You can also register a random key (a unique alphanumeric key generated by the system).

Managing your Pix keys

You can add and delete keys directly from your app. Here's how you can add them:

  1. Select BRL in your Wise account

  2. Click the Register Pix key icon

  3. Select Register Pix key

If you select your email address or phone number, we'll send an email or an SMS to verify it's you.

To delete your Pix key, follow these steps:

  1. Select BRL in your Wise account

  2. Click on Manage and select the Pix key

  3. Click on Delete Pix Key

How to transfer a Pix key

If you want to register a Pix key with Wise but it's already registered with another bank, you can initiate portability. This can be done from a bank to Wise and from Wise to a bank.

From your bank to Wise

  1. Start by registering the desired key

  2. The system will inform you it is already in use at a different bank

  3. Select Continue with key transfer

  4. You must confirm the key portability to Wise in your bank app

This process can take up to seven days

From Wise to your bank

First, you should request the portability in your bank app. After that, you should receive a notification to confirm the transfer. You can also follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Manage Pix Keys page

  2. Click on Confirm transfer from Wise to [your bank]

  3. Click on Confirm

How to claim a Pix key

If you tried to register your phone number as your Pix key and couldn't because we informed you it was in use by someone else, you can claim the key.

  1. Start by registering the desired key

  2. The system will inform you it is already in use at a different bank

  3. Select Continue with key transfer

The person has 7 days to prove they own that Pix key. If they don't complete this by the established time, the Pix claim will be successful. Please keep in mind that this is only possible if your Pix key is a phone number.
