You can edit most of your personal details right in your Wise account.
For your security, some details — like your name or date of birth after a transfer — can only be changed by us. If a field is greyed out, it means you'll need to contact us to update it.
How to edit your details
On the app
Tap on your profile picture or initials in the top-left corner.
Select Personal details.
Choose the detail you want to edit
On the web
Click on your name in the top-right corner.
Select Personal details.
Click on Edit details.
Can't log in? If you've changed your phone number and can't access your account, you'll need to use another way to log in first.
Changing your address
You can usually change your address yourself in your settings. We may ask you to verify your new address.
If the address fields are greyed out, you can’t change it yourself. This often happens for security reasons, like if you've moved to a different country. Contact us and we’ll help you.
Changing your name
For security, you can't change your legal name yourself, but we can do it for you. Please contact us and send a clear photo or scan of:
Legal document showing your name change (like a marriage certificate, name change document)
Your new ID showing your updated name
We need both documents to verify the change. If your ID hasn't been verified yet, we will only need the new ID.

What's a preferred name?
Your preferred name is what we use when we talk to you. It also shows up in your Settings. You can change this yourself in your Personal details after we’ve verified your identity.
Your legal name is different. We use it for verification, your Wise card, tax invoices, and payments.
If you live in Japan
Due to local regulations, you first need to update your name on your Japanese ID document. Once that's done, send us a photo of the front and back of the ID document, and we'll update your name in Wise. For the My Number card, we’ll only require the front side of the card.

Changing your date of birth
If you haven't completed or have a pending transfer, you can change your date of birth yourself in Personal details.
If you have already completed a transfer with Wise, you'll need to contact us to change it.
