Then, share your details with the person who wants to pay you.
They can pay you by local bank transfer. They won’t be able to pay you using international wire or Swift. It usually takes 1–2 working days to receive RON into your account.
Payments from outside Romania
You can’t receive payments from outside Romania with your local account details. However, you can use your GBP account details to receive Swift payments from anywhere in the world.
We don’t charge any additional fees to receive international payments in RON, but correspondent banks might apply their own fees.
It usually takes 4–5 days to receive RON into your account via Swift.
As Wise is based in the UK, we use a GBP IBAN/GBP BIC code for some account details including RON. Don’t worry—you can still use the GBP IBAN to receive in RON. When sharing your IBAN with your sender, tell them to select the United Kingdom if they’re asked the country of the recipient’s (your) bank.
Please note, that some sender banks might be converting money to GBP if they see that bank details are in GBP. To avoid conversion fees, tell your sender bank that you'd like to the payment in your chosen currency.
