Account details are a set of details for a currency to receive money.
Once you have your RON account details, you’ll have your own account details where you can receive Romanian leu.
This isn’t a bank account, but you can receive money in the same way by sharing the details with friends, family, clients or companies, so that they can send you money.
They can pay you domestically from their Romanian bank. Once you receive the money, it’ll be credited to your RON balance.

Payments from inside Romania
Share your RON details (bank code and account number) with the person who wants to pay you.
The sender’s bank will give them an estimate when they set up the payment — for any details about how long it takes, reach out to your sender so they can ask their bank.
Payments from outside Romania
If your payer isn't able to make a domestic transfer, you can use your RON details to receive Swift payments.
Payments by Swift to GBP details
You can’t receive RON payments from outside Romania with your domestic account details, but you can receive RON to your GBP account details. It takes up to 5 working days to receive RON by Swift.
Just let the sender know that you want to receive RON into your GBP details so you can avoid conversion fees. Some banks might recognise the GBP IBAN and want to convert RON to GBP, but this isn't necessary.
If their bank asks them the country of the recipient’s (your) bank, tell them to select the United Kingdom.
We don’t charge any additional fees to receive international payments in RON, but correspondent banks might apply their own fees.
