Who can I send UGX to?

You can send UGX to individual bank accounts in Uganda. Payments to and from business bank accounts are temporarily not supported.

What information do I need about my recipient?

You’ll need their full name (up to 35 Latin characters only), their 8-20 digit account number, and their bank name.

How much can I send?

You can send up to 30 million UGX per transfer.

How long does it usually take for the money to arrive?

Once we receive and convert your money, it usually arrives in your recipient’s bank account on the same working day. Conversion can take up to 2 working days. 

We’ll always give you an estimate for how long your transfer will take when you set it up.

What is information is needed to send UGX?

We require following details about the sender for regulatory reasons:

  • Mobile phone number

  • Date of birth

  • Account number

  • Nationality

  • ID number

    • We accept following documents: passport, national ID, drivers licence, birth certificate, employee identification, financial card, NSSF card, refugee/residents/student identification, voter’s card.

Your transfer will be paused until you've submitted the needed information and documents through self-service.
