How to get paid into local account details

13 global account details

In addition to the local account details, your business can also get paid in 17 currencies via the Swift network, with global account details, which enable you to receive even more payments from customers and clients all over the world. Global account details are available in the following currencies: AUD, NZD, SGD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, HKD, CHF, CZK, JPY, HUF and BGN.

This means that you can now receive business payments in 17 currencies, allowing more customers to pay you in the currency they prefer.

What is the difference between local and global account details?

If you're receiving in 9+ currencies including USD, EUR, and GBP, local account details allow your customers to pay you free of charge to you and your customers because there are no conversion fees involved in this transaction and we do not charge Wise Business customers to hold local account details.

These account details, such as an account number and sort code, IBAN or BIC code allow your customers to pay you as if you were a local operating just across town. Payments normally arrive in your account very quickly, especially if your customer is using Wise to send the money.

Global account details allow you to receive payments via the international Swift network in 13 currencies. This means that if you're based in the UK and your customer is in Australia and wants to pay you in AUD, they can set up a Swift payment via their bank rather than exchanging money into GBP. It is up to your sender's bank how much they charge for Swift payments. We also charge a small fee per transaction, which varies according to the currency you choose to get paid into. We will always tell you up front what the fees are.

Direct Debits

Ensure more regular revenues by allowing your customers to set up direct debits for one-off bank transfers, subscriptions or recurring payments. Provide them with your account details to get paid on time, every time via direct debits, reducing the risk or missed or late payments.

To set up direct debits:

  1. Provide your Wise Business account details to the customer, client or company you want to get paid from.
  2. Wait for them to confirm they have set up the direct debit from their account.
  3. Get paid in any of the currencies you set up account details for.

Send a Payment Request Link

Payment links streamline the process of getting paid. Simply set up a single use or reusable payment link in your desired currency and allow your customers to pay you quickly via bank transfer.

If you have a product or service with a set price, you can also set up Reusable Payment Links. These enable you to charge different customers the same amount without the need to set up a new payment link every time.

To generate a payment request link:

  1. Go to the balance you want to get paid into and click ''Receive''.
  2. Select ''Request a Payment'' and create a link.
  3. Share the link via email, text, invoice or message with your customers.
Request payments online from customers near and far - just generate an invoice, share your payment link, and get paid directly into your Wise Business account. If you need to convert the money into another currency, you can do so at the mid-market rate with no hidden fees.
