How does the cashback invite program work?

Wise offers different invite programs depending on your region. You have a unique link on your invite page that you can share with friends and businesses to invite them to Wise.

How do I invite friends?

Inviting friends is simple — they just need to sign up to Wise using your unique invite link. You can find your link on your invite page.

Every friend you invite will get a discount on their first transfer or a free Wise card.

Good to know about fee-free transfers:

  • The fee-free discount applies to all Wise transfer fees, except external costs (such as tax payments).

  • Your friend must use their discount within 6 months of signing up.

How can I become eligible for cashback?

Once your invited friends sign up with your link and meet the qualification requirements, cashback will automatically turn on for your account and apply to your next eligible transactions.

How guests qualify

They can usually do that by sending an international transfer between different currencies, or by spending with their Wise Multi-Currency Card. They can reach the total over multiple transactions. They’ll qualify once they’ve spent the necessary amount.

Exact details on how your invite program works can be found on your invite page

You can track the progress of your guests from your invite page. You’ll see once they’re qualified for your reward. Your invites will still get a discount even if they don’t spend the necessary amount. You can earn the invite reward multiple times — just invite more friends.

Good to know:

  • Your invited friends will still get their sign-up discount even if they don't reach the qualification amount for your cashback reward.

  • You can track your guests' progress anytime from your invite page.

What transactions don’t qualify for guest invite rewards?

The following transactions won't count toward your guest's qualification amount:

  • Same-currency transfers (such as BRL to BRL)

  • Converting between their different Wise currencies

  • Cash or cash-like transactions, including ATM withdrawals, cashback at checkout, and gift voucher purchases

  • Card payments for gambling, including bookmakers and casinos

  • Card payments to financial institutions, government bodies, or tax authorities

  • Card payments connected to commodities, investments, savings, or crypto assets

How does cashback work?

Once you qualify, you’ll earn 20% cashback on eligible card transactions over a 2-month period, up to a total of 30 AUD / 30 NZD / 30 MYR /50 BRL (depending on the currency of your rewards).

Example:

  • Month 1: Earn up to 15 AUD

  • Month 2: Earn up to 15 AUD

Cashback is paid out in the currency used for each transaction.

Payout schedule and cut-off dates

Transactions cleared by merchants by the 25th of the month are paid out on the 1st of the following month (or the next business day).

Example 1 (Cleared before cut-off):

  • You spend 200 AUD with your Wise card on 16 November.

  • Your merchant clears the transaction on 17 November.

  • You receive the cap of 15 AUD cashback on 1 December (if it's a business day).

Example 2 (Cleared after cut-off):

  • You spend 100 AUD with your Wise card on 24 October.

  • Your merchant clears the transaction on 26 October.

  • You receive the cap of 15 AUD cashback on 2 December instead of 1 November.

Note: The day you spend with your card isn't always the day the merchant clears the transaction. Clearing times depend entirely on the merchant.

We’ll send you an email and an app push notification as soon as your cashback is paid. You can also view your cashback details directly in your Wise account once paid.

What transactions can I get cashback on?

All card transactions are eligible for cashback, except:

  • Cash or cash-like transactions (such as ATM withdrawals, cashback at checkout, or gift voucher purchases)

  • Gambling transactions (including bookmakers and casinos)

  • Payments to financial institutions (like credit card providers)

  • Payments connected to commodities, investments, savings, or crypto assets

  • Payments to government bodies or tax authorities

How much cashback can I earn?

You can earn up to 30 AUD / 30 NZD / 30 MYR /50 BRL (depending on the currency of your rewards).

The minimum cashback payout is 0.01 GBP (or equivalent in another supported currency). If you make a transaction under 2 GBP, it won't earn cashback.

What currency would I get the cashback amount in?

Cashback is paid in the currency of each eligible transaction. If you make 10 transactions (4 in USD, 3 in SGD, 3 in GBP), you'll receive cashback in those 3 currencies (USD, SGD, and GBP).

What happens if I pay in a currency not supported by Wise?

If you pay in an unsupported currency, cashback defaults to the billing currency of your card (based on where your card was issued). For example, if your card was issued in Brazil, your billing currency is BRL.

Why haven't I received cashback on a transaction?

If you haven't received cashback, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The transaction type isn't eligible for cashback (see the non-eligible list above).

  • The merchant hasn't cleared the transaction yet. You can check the transaction status in your account or contact the merchant.

  • The merchant cleared the transaction after the monthly 25th cut-off date. In this case, your cashback will be paid the following month.

  • Your card or account was closed before the cashback payout date. (Accrued cashback is forfeited if an account is cancelled prior to payment).

  • The transaction was refunded or reversed.

How do I opt out of cashback?

You're automatically enrolled in the cashback program when an invited guest qualifies. Once you reach your cashback earnings limit, the feature automatically turns off in your account.
