How do I verify my business in Thailand?

When you sign up to Wise Business in Thailand, you’ll need to give us some details about yourself and your business. It’s how we keep your money safe and comply with regulations in Thailand.

We currently onboard the following business types in Thailand:

  • freelancer or sole trader

  • sole proprietorship

You must live in Thailand to open a freelancer or sole proprietorship business account.

What information we’ll ask for

We’ll ask for basic business details, including:

  • Business name, business type, and business activities

  • Business registration address and trading address

  • Business website or online profile

  • How you intend to use Wise

  • Personal details of the account owner

We may ask for more information or documents depending on your business type, business activity, or how you use Wise.

Business type

On top of the basic details of your business, we’ll need additional information depending on your business type.

Freelancer or sole trader

If you’re a freelancer or sole trader, you must be the owner of the business to open a Wise Business account.

You’ll need to provide:

  • Personal details and identity verification

  • Business name, address, and activities

  • Business website or online profile

If you don’t have a separate business name, you can use your full legal name.

Sole proprietorship

If you’re a sole proprietorship, you must be the owner of the business to open a Wise Business account.

You’ll need to provide:

  • Personal details and identity verification

  • Registered business name, address, and activities

  • Commercial Registration Certificate, such as a DBD certificate or commercial registration issued by a municipality or district office

We won’t be able to onboard your sole proprietorship without a valid registration document.

What identity documents do I need?

If you’re a Thai national, you’ll need a valid Thai National ID card. You may also need to complete NDID verification if you’re opening currencies or getting local account details.

If you’re a foreign resident in Thailand opening a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietorship account, you’ll need a valid passport and a document showing your right to live in Thailand, such as a non-immigrant visa, work permit, or residence permit.

For some Wise features, we may also ask for proof of your current residential address in Thailand.

Can’t find your company type?

Wise Business in Thailand isn’t available yet for limited companies, limited partnerships, juristic ordinary partnerships, or other Thai business types.

We’re working on supporting more business types in Thailand.
