To pay for a transfer from BRL by boleto, follow these steps
Set up a transfer on Wise — make sure it’s from BRL — and enter the amount you want to send, and the currency you’re sending to
Add and review the recipient’s details
At the payment method step, choose boleto. Read the information, then click OK, got it, then Get the boleto
Your boleto will be downloaded onto your computer, as well as sent by email. If you’re using the app, you can either: show the linha digitável, then paste it into your online banking; send it to your email and download it there; or get the barcode
Leave Wise to pay for the boleto. You can do this by online banking, telephone banking, or in person. Make sure you pay the boleto before its expiration date and that you pay from a bank account that is on your own name
That’s it. It usually takes 1–2 working days for the money to reach Wise. Once we get it, we’ll finish the transfer
Keep in mind:
Only you can pay for the boleto. If someone else pays for it, we won’t be able to make the transfer
If the boleto is issued before 4pm (Brasília time), it expires within the same day. If it’s issued after 4pm, it expires the next working day
Don’t pay for a boleto that’s already expired. We can’t accept it. Here’s what to do if it expires
You can’t send more than 9,000 BRL in one transfer. You also can’t send more than 100,000 BRL by boleto in a 365 day period.
Wise works with Rendimento and JP Morgan in Brazil. Your boleto might be issued by either of these banks — so don’t worry if it looks different to last time
