How do I set up 2-step login?

There are 2 types of 2-step login — a code by SMS or phone call, or a notification in the Wise app. Here’s how to set up both.

Set up 2-step login by SMS

1. If you're using the Wise website, click your name in the top-right corner. If you're using the app, go to the Account tab and click the top-right corner — it’s 3 dots both on Android and iOS

2. Go to Settings

3. Click 2-step login, then register your phone number

Set up app-based 2-step login

1. Download the Wise app if you don’t have it already, and log in

2. Go through the steps to set up 2-step login by SMS

3. Go back to Privacy & Security

4. Click 2-step login, then register the device

5. Turn on notifications to make sure you get the approval request

Using the app is more reliable, because it only needs the internet to work. It’s the best option if you have problems with your phone, or if you’re planning to travel.
